We went this summer. It's a lovely hotel. Pools are smaller than the other Tui Blues we have done. The local beach is really beautiful and a sunset swim is a must. Ibiza itself is just brilliant.

Tui Blue Aura is a good quality 4 star and one of the better Tui hotels we’ve stayed in. The splash park is good for a 7yo.

Our verdict

TUI BLUE Aura is a few minutes' walk from Port des Torrent beach, a sheltered cove with calm and shallow waters, ideal for babies' and toddlers’ first paddle in the sea.

Guests get free entry to the waterpark located right next to the hotel, and as such, you may find you spend most of your days in the water. With fun tube slides, a pirates splash area for young children and rapid slides where you can all race against each other, there’s lots to keep the whole family entertained for hours.

Back at the hotel there are plenty of other pools to choose from, including a large outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a splash park and a shaded children's pool.

The buffet restaurant is popular with younger guests thanks to a specific area just for kids, and children are encouraged to try new foods, with stickers serving as a great motivator for more fussy or reluctant eaters. For something a little different, you can also venture to the Japanese Teppanyaki a la carte restaurant once a week during your stay, and enjoy watching your food served in front of your eyes while you wait.

Captain T dog, the TUI Blue mascot, will go down well with the youngsters at Aura, encouraging even the shyest of children to get up, have fun, and make new friends. Kids' clubs are split into age groups to make sure they're always age-appropriate, while the dedicated activity hosts provide family-friendly games, activities and sports six days a week.

We stayed at TUI Magic Life Calabria in September in the Private Lodge area - which is for over 16s. Huge pool, lots of sunbeds, separate bar, pool bar and restaurant, and a reserved section on the beach. The adults only bit was quiet and food was amazing - loads of choice ... I was looking for a cheapish fly and flop week, and in fact the place was MUCH nicer than the photos, and amazing staff.

Our verdict

If you like your holidays to be action-packed, TUI Magic Life Calabria is a great place to start. Located in the pretty seaside town of Pizzo in Southern Italy, this Calabria resort is surrounded by hills, pine trees and vineyards.

With all-inclusive meals on offer, there's plenty of choice. The Magico buffet restaurant offers theme nights and live cooking stations while guests can also enjoy once-a-week dining at the Flavour speciality restaurant, where you can tuck into dishes from six different European destinations. During the day you can enjoy pizza at the poolside snack station, and at night, you can snack on a sandwich when ordering drinks at the 24-hour Wunderbar.

When it comes to entertainment, Magic Life certainly doesn't disappoint. Whether you prefer your days to be spent lounging around or keeping active, there’s plenty here to cater for every energy level.

The action-packed activity programme features 120 unique activities and facilities including 11 tennis courts, five pools, a watersports centre, a splash park for kids, a gym and a spa. Bored is definitely not a word you'll hear at this bustling Magic Life resort.

Your children will love going to the kids’ clubs, which are grouped by age. They offer age-appropriate activities for children from three years all the way to Teen Time for 13-16-year-olds. Best of all? The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down, with dancers, singers, musicians, discos and beach parties to entertain your family long into the evening.

Part of the Suneo range of TUI all-inclusive resorts, the Chrissi Amoudia offers a budget-friendly yet comfortable resort located on the beautiful Greek island of Crete.

While there are no kids' clubs and limited evening entertainment, it’s the ideal place to have fun with your family as you soak up the sun in stunning surroundings.

A large grassy sun terrace surrounds the swimming pool which has a section reserved specifically for kids; the separate smaller pool is well suited to the youngest of swimmers.

Fancy an American fry-up one morning, followed by a fresh croissant and continental breakfast the next? Suneo resorts pride themselves on their around-the-world cuisine, so you can expect to tuck into food from across the globe at the all-inclusive buffet, or treat yourself to cocktails and ice cream at the poolside bar.

On cloudy days, the indoor play area is a great place for children to burn off some excess energy, while daily activities like lawn games and skittles may even give you time to relax with a book!

Our verdict

Near Cala’n Bosch Bay, families visiting the Grupotel Turquesa Mar can expect a soft, golden sandy beach and a beautiful marina close by, surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. There are two different beaches within a 10-minute walk of the hotel, making it super easy to switch from the beach to poolside.

There are four large pools, including a kids' splash zone with slides and fountains and an indoor pool for those rare cloudy days.

For your all-inclusive dining, you can choose from two on-site restaurants. The main buffet restaurant serves local, international and family favourites, with a separate area catering specifically for children. Guests can also enjoy one visit a week to the Taverna, offering an a la carte selection of traditional Spanish and Menorcan cuisine. During the day, the poolside bar offers a selection of light bites too.

For those who can’t keep still, there’s a playground and a multisports court or you can take part in the TUI FlowTheBeat Yoga and dance sessions to burn off some energy.

Alternatively, if you fancy some relaxation or time to soak up some sun, the kids' clubs for 3 to 11-year-olds run two hours a day, six days a week, with a Hangout for teens offering less structured time away from their family with other guests of a similar age.

Whether you’re drinking in the bars as the sun goes down, watching the TUI West End-style shows or enjoying party nights with your family, there’s a real focus on having fun at this resort.

Our verdict

If you’re a fan of luxury hotels but want a resort that's both high-end AND family-friendly, the Sensatori Atlantica Dreams resort is an excellent choice. While some areas are reserved for adults, the majority of the resort is well set up to cater for families and children of all ages.

On the pebbly Gennadi beach, you can easily relax on the Bali day beds or beanbags or take a paddle in the sea, but if you prefer the comfort of an on-site pool, Atlantica Dreams has five to choose from. From the indoor pool for cloudy days to the activity pool and quiet pool, you can easily switch depending on your mood. There’s also a children’s splash park with slides, sprinklers and a dunk bucket, ideal for younger guests.

Our verdict

On a stretch of fine, golden sand in Playa de Muro in Alcudia Bay, TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins offers impressive views across the seafront.

There are plenty of pools at this resort. Families will love playing together in the large central pool which has a waterslide and built-in hot tubs, while children can enjoy one of two separate children’s pools: a splash park with animal-themed chutes or a smaller children’s pool with a slide. There’s even a partly shaded pool for babies and toddlers and a quieter swimming pool for those who want to escape for some peace.

The all-inclusive dining options include a choice of five restaurants. The main buffet-style restaurant has a child-friendly section. Parents will also love the Healthy Eating Challenge, which encourages children to try new foods in exchange for stickers and prizes. Guests can also enjoy once-a-week dining at the Taverna, with a focus on local flavours.

From babies to teens, your children will be well catered for, with a BabyClub and Kids' Club for 3-11-year-olds offering two hours of themed, age-appropriate activities for children six days a week and an accessible Hangout for teens. Early evening entertainment includes games and shows with the TUI BLUE dog Mascot Captain, before the nightly show to entertain the whole family.

For those who simply can’t keep still, guests can head to one of the fun cooking classes with Captain T, play in the soft play centre, battle it out on the table tennis courts or work up a sweat at a BlueFitforFamilies session, a weekly workout event that the whole family can enjoy together.

Our verdict

If your family loves heading down to the beach, TUI Magic Life Fuerteventura prides itself on its enviable location - set directly above the Playa de Esquinzo beach with its impressive expanse of white sand.

There's plenty to keep guests of all ages entertained. There are regular on-site parties, including 80’s nights and silent discos, as well as magicians, dancers and live shows to entertain guests in the evenings.

Kids' clubs operate six days a week, with age-appropriate activities in grouped sessions for children aged 3 - 11 years. If you’re travelling with teens, they won’t be forgotten about either. The Magic Teens group is aimed at 12-17-year-olds and incorporates fun activities like archery at the 35-metre-long archery range plus football, volleyball and mountain biking. With more than 120 daytime activities to explore, there really is something for everyone.

There are two large pools, as well as a family pool and an activity pool, and a splash park for younger guests. It’s worth mentioning that there's a naturist over-18’s relaxation pool and terrace at this resort, however, this is tucked into a corner of the hotel and is hard to stumble upon accidentally.

There are six on-site restaurants to choose from, including one visit a week to a choice of four speciality restaurants. If you fancy making your all-inclusive buffet extra special, you even can choose to upgrade to a premium buffet including extras like smoked salmon and champagne. The Wunderbar is 24 hours, ideal for your end-of-day cocktail, while you can easily pick up a selection of daytime snacks as you lounge around the pool.

Our verdict

If you’re travelling with young children, a resort with a short transfer time from the airport can be helpful, allowing you to get settled and start enjoying your holiday as soon as possible after you land.

Maspalomas & Tabaiba Princess is a great option, just 30 minutes away from Gran Canaria airport and a short walk to designer boutiques, shops and amenities. It’s also conveniently located for a trip to the sand dunes of Maspalomas and the shopping malls of Playa del Ingles.

Previously two hotels merged into one, this recently revamped hotel is modern and stylish, with a cool aesthetic surrounded by palm trees and thatched canopies.

The large lagoon pool is broken up into smaller sections crossed by bridges, but there are seven pools in total, two of which are just for kids. The new Sabana Aqua Park is sure to be a hit with younger guests, with an elephant and safari theme and a  splash pool with flumes and jets.

The main buffet restaurant is presented like a food market, with show cooking stations serving freshly made international cuisine. You can also enjoy one meal a week at Kokoro, for a variety of Asian food (including freshly made sushi) inside or outdoors on the sun terrace.

Evenings are a little more chilled, with live music or drinks at the chill-out bar after a mini disco for the kids. During the day, daytime kids' clubs cater for kids aged 4-12, including arts, crafts and games.

Our verdict

TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach is located in Playa Blanca, one of Lanzarote’s biggest and most popular resorts. Just a short stroll from Playa Flamingo Beach, the harbour and a fun-filled water park, this hotel provides the perfect base to entertain your family both inside and outside of your hotel complex.

There are three large pools, including a large lagoon pool, an activity pool and a relaxation pool. As well as separate shallow water spots for babies and toddlers, there’s also a large splash park with slides and a tilting bucket that’s sure to have little ones racing around for hours.

The large buffet restaurant, caters well for children too, with a great choice of international, and local dishes and family favourites. Children will love helping themselves to familiar food like they eat at home, while being rewarded for trying new foods with the TUI Blue Healthy Eating Challenge. One trip to the Taverna restaurant is included with your stay, allowing you to enjoy local flavours from the a la carte menu.

Kids’ clubs at Flamingo Beach include the Baby Club, Minis for 3-5s and Maxis for 6-11’s, while teens may prefer the more relaxed Hangout for 12-15 year-olds with less structured activities and entertainment.

There are dedicated sports and activity hosts to entertain your crew, with family-focused activities on offer during the day. In summer, the on-site Swim School can help children gain confidence in the water for an additional fee.

Holidaying with active kids and water babies? This TUI BLUE hotel on Turkey's west coast is a dream come true. In addition to the outdoor pool and shallow children’s pool, guests also get FREE unlimited access to the Aqua Fantasy Waterpark next door, packed full of high-speed water slides, racing lanes, corkscrews and a wave pool. Older kids will no doubt love the Viper, Screamer and X-Treme flumes while the waterpark’s lazy river provides a more sedate experience for little ones.

As well as trips to the private beach, there are high-quality kids’ clubs and daytime activities including watersports, family football and tennis to keep the whole family busy.

What’s included in a TUI all-inclusive package?

This varies depending on individual resorts, however, most TUI all-inclusive packages include meals and snacks at the main buffet restaurant, as well as soft drinks and a selection of alcoholic options. Often resorts have other speciality restaurants on site. Packages usually include one complimentary visit per week to one of these restaurants. The availability of food and drinks, including opening times, varies between resorts, but many include bars open 24 hours. Responsible drinking is encouraged, particularly at family resorts, so you can expect some limitations on alcoholic drinks.

Most resorts offer an extensive entertainment package including kids' clubs, sports facilities and evening entertainment free of charge, although some specific activities may incur an additional fee.

What’s the difference between TUI BLUE, TUI BLUE Sensatori, TUI Suneo and TUI Magic Life?

TUI Suneo: Affordable beach breaks that offer great value for money. Generally three- and four-star hotels within a 10-minute walk of a beach, but due to their more affordable price tag, may offer less variety in terms of entertainment and kids' clubs.

TUI BLUE: Aimed at families who want to spend time together. There's a real focus on well-being and togetherness, so they encourage activities that families can enjoy together like large pools, varied dining options and extensive entertainment packages for adults and children alike. They also recognise that adults sometimes need a break too, with complimentary kids' clubs providing a wide range of entertainment and the opportunity for children to make new friends.

TUI BLUE Sensatori: Family-friendly hotels but in five-star surroundings, these luxurious hotels offer sophisticated dining options, combined with the facilities, entertainment and service associated with TUI BLUE resorts.

TUI Magic Life: These hotels are located right on the beach and offer a selection of pools to choose from. With an extensive entertainment package, guests can pick from more than 120 different options and enjoy food and drink around the clock thanks to 24-hour all-inclusive access. Whether your perfect holiday is relaxed or high energy, you can easily tailor this resort to your family’s needs.

Are kids’ clubs included at all TUI hotels?

Age limitations and details may vary from one resort to the next, but most kids' clubs generally operate for two hours a day, six days a week. Some may be grouped by age, whereas at smaller hotels there may be one club for children aged 3-12.

What’s the best TUI all-inclusive hotel for families?

It’s so hard to pick just one, as each TUI package offers something slightly different. That said, for its fantastic location, wide range of activities and entertainment, as well as family-friendly dining and kids' clubs to suit all ages, the TUI BLUE Aura in Ibiza's Port Des Torrent takes our top spot.

How we chose our recommendations

We spent several hours sifting through Mumsnet's forums for recommendations from users on the experiences of TUI All Inclusive, including the resorts they’ve visited personally and would rate most highly for a family holiday.

We then consulted recommendations from travel experts and made sure we included attractions that regularly appeared in ‘best’ lists or were the most highly rated by guests on TripAdvisor and review sites, ensuring that previous visitors were satisfied with their stay.
