The Akua Reindorf appreciation thread

Akua Reindorf has been doing sterling work on X this week challenging the lies that have been spread about the law and the EHRC code of practice. Depressingly, often these lies have come from MPs. With the exception of Stella Creasy, who proceeded to dig herself a bigger hole all week, most of the MP statements were dump and runs, and they didn't engage with any of the questions or criticisms (of course).

I appreciate Akua's cool-headedness. She is smart and articulate and never resorts to smears (take note Jolyon). I'm looking forward to reading her book when it comes out next year.

I met ARKC on Thursday night and I was in awe. And then, after another glass of wine, I told Karon Monaghan KC she was a legend too, and Karon was very nice about it.

She's doing sterling service, in an era where our elected parliamenteerians either don't understand the law and how it is made or are willfully misrepresenting it. Negligent or lying.

I actually think new MPs should be sent on an intensive course on the british legal system, with a test that they have to pass, before being allowed to vote or comment on anything. I am thoroughly fed up with these idiots.

She has been great on X this week. As a side note I was pleased Stella Creasy did actually engage on X. I thought that was quite brave although how she can't understand that transgender ideology is anti feminist and homophobic I don't know.

She’s amazing. We have some very impressive women on the side of safeguarding and the protection of women’s rights.

She's excellent. As well as being extremely knowledgeable, she is a superb communicator.

Yes, she really cuts to the chase. Surely even the hard of understanding can't fail to miss the point she is making. They just ignore it.

Ooh, I was at the same event as you! 👋 I couldn’t hang around long for drinks but I did manage to fangirl Sonia Sodha who was so lovely.

Karon Monaghan was an impressive speaker but at times came across a bit “live and let live” (“Most men respect the law and will stay out of women’s toilets, so no need to worry”) which I was a bit 🤨 about. But I’m happy to be told I’m wrong and she’s a bona fide legend.
