And your point is...?

LittleBearPad · 30/05/2026 11:52

Bank follows law. So what?

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 30/05/2026 11:54

Er it’s quite unusual? Unusual enough to have a story in a proper paper? Given how many places have just not done this, law or not, I thought people may be interested?

OP posts:
gatorlizzie · 30/05/2026 11:56

How many employees does this apply to ?

Justme56 · 30/05/2026 11:56

I am interested as a family member works for the bank. Thanks.

AMansAManForAllThat · 30/05/2026 11:58

Good. Let’s see the rest follow.

elgreco · 30/05/2026 11:58

Good

Chersfrozenface · 30/05/2026 11:58

Excellent. Other employers please take note

HenriettaSwanLeavitt · 30/05/2026 12:05

There we are. Wasn't so hard, was it? Single-sex toilets for men and women and gender neutral for anyone who is uncomfortable using the facilities for their biological sex. If the TRAs had fought for this 15 years ago it would have saved everyone a lot of time, money and effort.

Quite! It's almost as if it was never about being able to go the toilet and all about affirmation of their fantasy that they're women

Soontobe60 · 30/05/2026 12:09

Shouldn’t the headline read “Lloyds Bank bans men from using women’s lavatories”?

Indeed. Well let's see what happens. Any man still using the women's after this is definitely being outed as a red flag rather than a 'just need to pee'.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 30/05/2026 12:39

And they'll be providing mixed sex toilets for those wishing for mixed sex toileting. Perfect. Just what women have been saying all along.

And now for the rest...

Good.

lornad00m · 30/05/2026 12:52

They don't get brownie points for following the law.

mrshoho · 30/05/2026 12:55

Good, I hope Halifax bank is included as they are now part of Lloyds.

gatorlizzie · 30/05/2026 12:55

The sheer amount of money used by big corporations with "trans issues" has been huge and all for a minuscule percentage of people eg HSBC doing training for how to deal with trans customers. I would love to know how many trans people actually walk into a High St HSBC on a daily basis. Staff out of jobs, cost of experts in to do this and for what %? Why do this tiny % get so much funding thrown at them?

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 30/05/2026 12:57

Reddit having a normal one. 😂 Many of them still haven’t grasped that the EHRC guidance is not for workplaces I see.

At long last one of the major banking organisations is following the law to protect the privacy, safety and dignity of their staff.

Barclays did it a year ago.

Datun · 30/05/2026 13:04

Excellent news. Finally, spines sprouting up all over the place

It goes against all sound business sense doesn't it! I will never understand it. Same with the likes of John Lewis, M&S etc pandering to one tiny section of their customers at the expense of their majority customer base. Probably started off as wanting to be progressive with fingers on the pulse and then doubled down and stuck fingers in ears when customers objected. It's the Stonewall effect that thankfully is now in tatters.

LittleBearPad · 30/05/2026 13:04

Barclays did it a year ago.

And I moved a savings account to them in response to it, from the Co-op who were dragging their heels.

Ironically, the same account I moved to the Co-op from Barclays years ago over the issue of ethical investments.

misscockerspaniel · 30/05/2026 13:27

Lloyds was prominent on pushing the trans agenda so it is great to know that they are now following the law. And that is what the point is!
