For me it would be, "Who Put Bella in the Wych Elm".

Not just crimes - oddities of history, unexplained events etc.

Lesser known the better.

No-one??

Maybe you didn’t mean it too, and you said so in your post, but the title reads a bit like just asking for the unsolved crimes people would like to know the answers too, and it feels slightly off. Maybe that’s why not many people have replied.

Fair enough

I’ve been following this because i am interested in this too! Can’t think of anything to add at the moment though

Yorkshirelass04 · 15/06/2026 21:29

Dyatlov pass incident.

ThisAmpleCritic · 15/06/2026 21:29

I want to know more about the USA’s declassified UFO files … but I’m too lazy to look 🤷‍♀️😂

I grew up in Hagley and am equally intrigued by Bella in the wych elm.

Yorkshirelass04 · 15/06/2026 21:30

How strange - I live in that area and have never heard of this before.

Dyatlov pass incident.

That's solved now I think - a slab avalanche?

Arlanymor · 15/06/2026 21:43

Yorkshirelass04 · 15/06/2026 21:31

Claudia Lawrence.

This one for me too - I was watching a documentary last night. It's so sad.

Arlanymor · 15/06/2026 21:45

Lots of sad murders and disappearances of course - too many to mention really.

But two women I think about from time to time - Isdal Woman and Jennifer Fairgate.

I mean it's a local case for me and there were always rumours that someone knows and isn't coming forward.

Also suzy lamplugh.

I didn't know that re dyatlov pass!

Sure, yes and that must hurt too. I think a fair few people know the truth, it's impossible that they don't isn't it? It always stuck in my head that her birthday is the day after mine (although I'm five years younger) and when it happened it really, really got under my skin. I think it's truly awful that people don't give up what they know - are they waiting for someone to die before they come forward?

Totally agree re. Suzy Lamplugh too, although I 100% think it was John Cannan (dead now of course) and the least you can do is to give their family back their bones at least. All tragically sad and unfair.

Yes! I think they released the information during Covid though so it pretty much went unreported. Swiss researchers worked it out I think from memory - have a look on YouTube, there must be a video up on it by now.

Where Lord Lucan is.
Who really shot JFK.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/06/2026 22:25

Andrew Gosden. So sad.

The Yuba County 5. 5 young men who went to a basketball game, drove the opposite way to home in the middle of winter, I think a snow storm, and the bodies of 4 were eventually found in different places, the 5th never was. One was found dead in a cabin full of food and firewood. They all had some disabilities, but were able to go out independently and at least one could drive. Very very sad and strange.

Tollington · 15/06/2026 23:03

Cattle mutilations. They’ve been going on all over the world for a very long time and there has never been one witness, no footprints, no tyre marks, often in the middle of nowhere in the dead of night. Cuts with surgical precision like a laser. Sometimes the cattle have had the spine removed. No blood ever on the floor, sometimes there’s no blood even left in the animal. Even more bizarre is that scavengers won’t go near the bodies and they leave all the parts that they would normally eat.

There’s no bigger rabbit hole to fall down

I am also obsessed with this case. There is an active Facebook group full of people still looking and it includes some of the boys relatives. So many aspects of the case don't add up. Those poor boys. They all had learning difficulties as well.

i’m fascinated by the Flannan Isles lighthouse disappearances - something about a spooky lighthouse on a windswept island I just love

Why, when there were 300 million people to choose from, did the Americans decide that Trump was the best person they could find to be President.

Utterly baffling, that one.
