Best charity shops in central London?

I am looking for top end high street and brands like Sézane and & Other Stories. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to find some designer pieces however it’s probably not going to happen given my budget.

Where do you think would be good?

Marylebone high st? Silly prices though.

MissMoneyFairy · 28/05/2026 16:03

Knightsbridge, kensington, Paddington, Holland Park and Richmond areas.

Disasterclass · 28/05/2026 16:15

There used to be a good oxfam in the Kings Road which had lots of designer stuff. Haven’t been that way for a while though

There's a lovely one in Pimlico near Victoria Station where I got a 100% linen Monsoon white long shirt the other day which is perfect in this weather.
I've just looked it up it's in Wilton Road and it's the Royal Trinity Hospice. There's another charity shop on the other side too, Octavia Foundation, closer to the station. Probably both worth a visit if that's the right area for you.

It was brand new and £20 by the way which I thought wasn't bad.

Notting Hill and Wimbledon village both have charity shops with good brands.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 28/05/2026 16:35

There’s a cardinal hume charity shop on horseferry Road (Pimlico) which is good.

I work just off Horseferry Road and didn’t know this!

I'm not in London but when I visit I normally make a point of looking up the Trinity Hospice and Octavia Foundation shops. All the central London ones seem to be expensive these days though so you might find good stuff but it might not feel like such a bargain.

My personal favourite is Retromania in Victoria but that's mainly vintage so might not be quite what you're after.

There’s one in Soho between Marshall Street and Carnaby Street - designer labels and well out of my price range. It’s a mental health charity, I think - possibly Mind.

Henriettina · 28/05/2026 17:32

Chiswick has quite a few, full of yummy mummy cast offs.

Westfacing · 28/05/2026 17:40

Oxfam, Shawfield Street - off the King's Road, Chelsea

Paperbackwrither · 28/05/2026 17:48

St Johns Wood Oxfam.

Caspianberg · 28/05/2026 17:52

Oxfam high st Kensington. Always has good kids books also

plus tk maxx on High Street Kensington also has some of the best branded bargains ( 5 min walk between the 2).

Theres also a charity shop on the road from high st Ken towards Notting Hill that’s often full of designer

TheKittenswithMittens · 28/05/2026 18:04

Go and find it, it’s a hidden treasure!

leporello · 28/05/2026 19:47

I've scored some good stuff in the charity shops the Holland Park end of Ken High Street - an Ulla Johnson blouse and a lot of Free People, plus irresistible glittery Converse.

FusionChefGeoff · 28/05/2026 19:54

Vinted?!

truepenguin · 28/05/2026 22:56

Yes Pimlico going into Victoria is wall to wall good chazza shops. The Royal Trinity has a designer rail. Octavia is big, there's a Mind and a Terrance Higgins Trust on Churton St, Hospices of Hope, Sue Ryder and Fara on Warwick way, Retromania on Upper Tachbrook.. I'm sure I've missed some out.

Thechateau · 29/05/2026 03:53

Fara in Chiswick or Clapham Junction, the charity shop on Marylebone High Street

Summerhillsquare · 29/05/2026 04:41

St John's Wood. Nice quiet street generally with other pretty but expensive shops.

Saving this thread. DH is going up to meet his old workmates in London soon and our trains go into Victoria so I might go up with him and have an explore round the charity shops in Pimlico mentioned earlier. It will be good to have a rummage without him standing outside looking pained!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 29/05/2026 11:34

I agree with Fara, can’t quite recall which areas they’re in but good stock.

FireSamantha · 29/05/2026 22:45

Another vote for Royal Trinity Hospice on Wilton Road!
