Help! Forgot to egg/milk wash scones

They are done and out of oven... is there any way to stop them looking so dry? Brush on melted butter? They're for a work buffet tomorrow. TIA.

Cut them open and pre-spread with jam and cream?. Or just have them open?

If they're sweet you could use apricot jam brushed on top

Sprinkle a bit of cheese on and pop them back in the oven to melt.
