All so silent. They should hang their heads in shame, surely be publicly be made to take ownership for what they did and be held to account.Cowards, the lot of them.

And surely it’s time we tried to right the wrongs of Brexit.

Heseltine: It’s time to reverse Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage’s Brexit ‘crime’

Exclusive: In a stinging attack on Brexiteers, Michael Heseltine says the British public has been conned

Lord Heseltine is right. They are an absolute disgrace, the damage they've done to this country.
No doubt that poster Clavinova will be along to defend brexit with his/her cut and pastes. 🙄

MandingoAteMyBaby · 14/06/2026 11:25

Surely someone paid them to do this amount of damage. Self-infliction would imply the British are incredibly thick as a nation, and that couldn’t possibly be the case - could it ?

And David Cameron deserves to be in that Group of Shame too.

They sold themselves as ‘patriots’ fighting for the ‘little people’, remember? Now we can see clearly that they’re corrupt individuals fighting for their billionaire owners (Farage) and for the lifelong dream of being PM (Johnson), although I hate to say that many of us knew that back then but were called ‘elitist’ and other nonsense, I wish I’d been wrong and this country had thrived. I find it shocking that anyone would vote for Farage/Lowe today, but that’s where we are

I know. One wonders how low we have to sink before the penny drops for some.

They should be tried for treason, and one day the details of how they sold their country will come to light, I am sure

TheAutumnCrow · 14/06/2026 11:35

Thanks, @Gkei737djdh - I’ve signed up to the Independent’s ‘Europe - the Way Back’ to see what David Maddox and Millie Cooke have to say.

I vaguely know David (good egg) and was getting worried he was heading a bit brexitty tbh so I’ll be watching this with great interest!

I want the UK to find an economic way back that doesn’t lead to us having to adopt even more of the crazy political genderwoo that still persists throughout many politicised structures and our own ridiculous political classes. That’s the last thing we need.

Honestly, I’d bring back Disraeli at this point.

TeaPot496 · 14/06/2026 11:38

Oh god I forgot Farage was so much behind Brexit. How could I? So that's why the hard of thinking are wetting their knickers in excitement over Reform.

TeaPot496 · 14/06/2026 11:39

After the Brexit result, Johnson's face was ashen, ASHEN I tell you. Looked devastated.

Gkei737djdh · 14/06/2026 11:45

I’d like the Farage lovers to lay out exactly/credibly how we’re supposed to compete with China and the USA economically and how we’re supposed to defend ourselves against the entire world military wise as a teeny tiny island on our lonesome hugely worse off financially because of Brexit. Never once do they reply or verbalise any type of plan. Funny that. Sucking up to the US and being reliant on their whim doesn’t seem much of a plan. It’s about all Farage and co have ever come up with.

He obviously underestimated the stupidity of the British electorate.

Or naive and trusting. I know NHS nurses who voted for Brexit because they believed the lies plastered on Boris's buses.

sweetpotatowedgeswithmayo · 14/06/2026 12:14

Naive and trusting is way too kind. It didn’t take a genius to work out that they don’t just take funding from one area and reapportion it elsewhere - it just doesn’t work like that.
10 years on and I am still fucking angry. The vote should never have been made to the public as (clearly) most people were too stupid to realise the ramifications.

TeaPot496 · 14/06/2026 12:20

I don't even think it was technically legally binding

I agree entirely, it was madness to offer it up to the electorate. The clowns amongst us swallowed the lies wholesale. It's just so desperately sad that the same people wish to inflict further damage on us by voting for Reform and Restore. I don't think they have a clue how bad things can get and how much lower we can go.

It was advisory, not legally binding

But the Tories said they would implement it.

SerendipityJane · 14/06/2026 12:36

I wonder if MNHQ could add a new board "The Unarguable Truth" ?

Because there is nothing remotely "unreasonable" in the OPs assertion.

And this isn't "Am I Being Unpalatable" (although I would subscribed to that too 😀)

Farages role in this is rather different to the Goves and Johnsons thought. He ha carefully avoided any hint of responsibility here. He made sure he was tucked up safe in bed with his EU pension when the fallout was dealt with.

Naive and trusting is also a form of stupidity…

IthasYes · 14/06/2026 13:30

All these comments would make more as sense if the EU was booming and thriving and doing extremely well economically and other countries were finally booming.

We are a G7 country that's our eccomic group.
The EU is Germany and France.

That's it economically !

I look at the EU.and wonder what people want to be a part of it for ?

As said in previous post.
