Is this a shine on the fabric or actually a nipple?

Can't decide, but if it's just the way the material is shining, did no one at Debenhams think to re take the photo?!

Looks like the shine to me

MyArtfulGreySloth · 10/06/2026 16:29

Just looks like shine 🤷🏻‍♀️

DustyMaiden · 10/06/2026 16:30

Shine, why would they retake , it’s doing its job.

Erin1975 · 10/06/2026 16:31

Looks massively photoshopped to me and probably deliberately.

Pippa12 · 10/06/2026 16:31

shine

BlackCat14 · 10/06/2026 16:32

I think it’s quite clearly the shine.

TheWineoftheChicken · 10/06/2026 16:33

It’s just the shine. Why would they retake it? It’s probably deliberately made to look like that.

likelysuspect · 10/06/2026 16:33

Its obviously the shine and it shows off that its shiny

Shhhhitsmagic · 10/06/2026 16:34

This keeps appearing on the strangest ad on my feed. Other items in the Debenhams ad include a man's night shirt, a JD Vance canvas and lots of naked lady paintings 🤔

Ponderingwindow · 10/06/2026 16:35

How could it be a nipple when she is wearing a bikini top? Are you implying they cut a hole in the top?

or are you subscribing to the ridiculous notion that women’s nipples should not be visible through their clothing?

50sandFabulous · 10/06/2026 16:54

It looks to me like it's metallic material on one side, and see through fabric on the other. I just can't seem to see it any other way!

I don’t understand - it’s clearly the shine, and why is that a bad thing? And even if it was a nipple, why is that a bad thing? And why would the picture need to be retaken in either case?

The picture is fine, it show the bikini how it will look on if it’s in the sun.

Me too but as others are saying it's probably a trick of the light.

BudgetBuster · 10/06/2026 17:04

It's very clearly just the shine / angle.
Absolutely nothing indicates its sheer material or a nipple... like nothing. I actually had to look a few times to see what the issue was?

airportfloor · 10/06/2026 17:05

Looks like see through material to me too!

RipsMyKnitting · 10/06/2026 17:07

Definitely just the shine/reflection

But why does her head look like it's been added on in Microsoft paint! Like a total novice has tried to Photoshop it!

50sandFabulous · 10/06/2026 17:07

Her right boob to me looks completely bare, as though the material is see through, and we can see the nipple. I was SO shocked when I saw it. I'm telling myself it must be the sheen, but I literally cannot see it any other way than what I have described!

OP posts:
BauhausOfEliott · 10/06/2026 17:08

Of course it’s not a nipple. Don’t be daft.

RipsMyKnitting · 10/06/2026 17:09

Hahaha, Mumsnet driving up M&S site traffic I think

"Popular!" 😂

Zov · 10/06/2026 17:11

I think you need to get off the internet for a few hours @50sandFabulous 😆

Even if it IS a nipple showing though - which it isn't because it's the shine/shadows - WHO CARES???????!

Perhaps an eye test?

AgentPidge · 10/06/2026 17:23

I had to look three times before I realised what you're seeing. It's just the material. They've put this at the bottom of the description:
COLOR DISCLAIMER: Your screen brightness, contrast, and saturation settings will affect the image viewed on your screen.
(Shame they can't spell 'colour', but whatever. Maybe someone's pointed it out to them.)

Purplecatshopaholic · 10/06/2026 17:25

That is clearly shine op. Are you getting paid by Debenhams to get us all to go there, lol.

Kazzy5055 · 10/06/2026 17:26

I don't even know why this was so important!! It's not even worth posting about!!! 😆

youalright · 10/06/2026 17:29

Its shine, but I do see what you mean 🤣🤣
