I can think of many things worse tbh.

I remember when DS was in hospital (approx 8 years ago) and every bloody kids had a tablet or the TV on full blast. It was so overwhelming. The worst point is when they all chose Moana but seemed to start it at 5 mins intervals 🙈

DS was 2 and not allowed a tablet.

Yes, heaven forbid they actually interact with tgeir children.

Dont get me wrong, devices absolutely can have their place, but we are doing children no favours at all by puttibg a tablet or phone in front of them at any opportunity

I mean if you were the root around in our childrens experiences in the womb and as babies you would likely clap with glee about an annoying tablet playing cartoons.

No-one's going to clap with glee at cartoons on full volume in a waiting room for any reason.

The baby is now kicking a cupboard loudly

This baby is so small the adult need only wheel it away from the cupboard

Yabu these are clearly educational opportunities for the little one and far preferable to picking their nose and gawping around looking at judgy sick people.

And the mother may have had a really hard day and normally spends every second reading to her child and this is the first and only time that child will see a moving image.

what’s stopping you from telling the parents that they either use headphones or the tablets will learn to fly.

I don't give a shiny shit about the mother's hard day every fucker in here has had a hard day and she's making it worse by being a massive c word

In fairness, and I often find the behaviour of children annoying, when they’re unwell at the doctors I actually probably wouldn’t mind this. Now if you said in a restaurant or on a train then I’d be 100% with you - nothing worse!!

Although you are reminding me of Anna foster on the today program this morning. They had a piece on ear phones and she said ‘everyone seems to be wearing them, except oddly if they’re on a train’

I think thats's unfair. I do this with mine albeit I make sure it is as quiet as possible. However the alternative would be running around, moaning, constant chit chat... Sometimes we have to weigh up pros and cons
