They got married on the Isle of Man where you can still get married at 16.

A quick google search would show you the minimum age on the Isle of Man is 16 with parental consent.

Sadly very normal in the traveller community. Women aren't valued, not allowed to be educated past age 11, and taught to be slaves to men cooking and cleaning, and other things that would get me banned from talking about. It's horrific.

When I first read about this my initial thought was wow she’s too young, but to be honest if it all goes pear shaped she can get divorced can’t she? Does it really matter? They have a truck load of money between them all, they seem happy, it’s a nice party for everyone, who are we to comment? Far worse things happening in the world. They’re hardly a traditional traveller family, although that’s their cultural background, I’m sure she has had plenty of say in it all.

I work with a lady who was born into the travelling community but she married outside the community. She ran away at 16 and made a life for herself. Her family weren’t very happy (there was some social services involvement) but they are sort of ok with it now, she doesn’t see a lot of them as we live miles away from where they are she moved miles away and she said she didn’t want this for her kids especially if they were girls.
She left school early with no qualifications and had to put herself thru college and she’s a lovely person - she has some interesting stories not all good but not all bad either. Incidentally she has 3 girls and she said she’s determined to give them a different upbringing to what she had.

With parents consent it's legal in IOM. Let her get on with it. She's got loads of money so I hope she got a pre nup though!

As someone who grew up with travellers in the community this is completely true. They were gone from school after the holy communion and it's well known that a huge amount of the men are thugs. Why do you think there are so many boxers? Bare knuckle boxing is huge.
