If we had another lockdown happen, i doubt it but if it did, what would you do different this time round.

I cant say i would change anything as i live alone, and i enjoyed it tbvh.
I didnt go mad with stock piling.

But if it happened again i would knit another quilt.

I wouldn't bleach my food shopping.
I wouldn't stick to the 1 hour limit on walking outside.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 11/05/2026 22:44

Stay home for the week before it started. I caught Covid on the last day or so before lockdown. Cannot recommend.

HotTiredDog · 11/05/2026 22:44

Its not really the Done Thing to admit, but there were parts that I appreciated, too.
Next time I’ll try to get more exercise & learn more about growing veg.
Think I’d also try to help a few people more, too (not sure how though).

Not been stuck living with my ex in a place with no garden with a boss who thought I could parent, home school and do a full-time job. Unfortunately, I had no control over those things. Sorry, it’s still raw.

Fukinell · 11/05/2026 22:48

I wouldn't comply like I did last time

chargingdock · 11/05/2026 22:48

Dont eat so much & move so little

shellyleppard · 11/05/2026 22:48

I would learn to make bread properly. Make sure I get a really good haircut before it starts.....had to cut my teenage sons hair. They were not impressed!! 🤣

plsbekinddelicate · 11/05/2026 22:49
  1. not be a key worker
  2. learn TikTok dances
  3. not wear a mask
  4. time my shopping trips to avoid the ridiculous red and green lights for one in one out
  5. drive to a castle to check my eyesight
  6. hold parties in my garden and call them working meetings
  7. look after my mental health or what’s left of it after the last time
drspouse · 11/05/2026 22:50

I would be prescient and wouldn't take my electric bike to the distant bike shop in Feb 2020 or else I'd make sure I definitely picked it up a week later. I didn't get it back till Sept.

Looseweightlooseinterest · 11/05/2026 22:50

I would ignore. Cannot believe now ,how compliant people were ,including myself .

This, wouldn’t not see my family to satisfy ridiculous demands that health care workers should abandon their dc for “the greater good”..

Nothing lockdown was the best time of my entire life and I'm tired of pretending it was not.

I ignored it from the start, but i could see others losing the plot over it.
And i just didnt get why so many was angry at others, for not stocking up or having windows open.

There was never a one hour rule! @Callmeback

I loved it tbh, spent loads of time in the garden. Wouldn't wish it on my kids again though, they missed out on so much!

SleepsAThingOfThePast · 11/05/2026 22:54

Not be told what to do

@plsbekinddelicate I forgot some of those things- the red/green lights at the supermarket being one.

I wouldn't change much from what I did before. Maybe more exercise and more gardening.

OneTimeThingToday · 11/05/2026 22:56

I would do everything and anything to ensure my children have social contact, in person, with their friends.

Melarus · 11/05/2026 22:56

I'd definitely comply. But I'd exercise more.

I'd try to come out of it a) alive and b) with a new skill.

WhatAMarvelousTune · 11/05/2026 22:57

For something like Covid? Nothing really.

I never did the more mad stuff like bleaching shopping and quarantining post. I never thought you could actually only leave your house once a day for one hour of exercise.
Most of the rest of it was stuff you have no choice over ie my children cannot go to a school that’s shut, I can’t go to a shop that isn’t allowed to open,

If it was a lockdown for something like Ebola, I’d be bleaching anything and everything, and just burning the post.

SleepsAThingOfThePast · 11/05/2026 22:57

Our tesco still have the traffic lights, although they are off now they're still there. And our express store

StrawberryStace · 11/05/2026 22:57

Firstly, hugs and care to those who struggled in the lockdowns, genuinely I hope you are doing ok now.

I feel awful to say it was one of my treasured times of life as while dh had to keep working, I was home with dc all day and they were too young to ‘school’ properly so it was play and learning basics.

I was only home as I lost my job at the start which obviously isn’t good but I learnt to appreciate time with loved ones and the great outdoors.

If it happened again I’d not have the same experience as dc older and would need ‘schooling’ and I would have to keep working now with where I am.

Tryingtohelp12 · 11/05/2026 22:57

I’d ask to be furloughed! It was hard enough wfh last time with one toddler but 3 under 8s would be very difficult if not impossible.
