Please help me think where my phone might be!!!

Samsung smart things isn't locating it.

I am confident it is in the house. I have 2 toddlers. I noticed last night it was missing. But I hoped it would just turn up.

To make it worse it is my work phone and there is a lot of things that have 2 step verification now so I can't log into things

The company know I use it as a personal phone too, they offered when I started. It has two sims.

Three methods to try:

  1. If there was somewhere you thought you'd left it, look again, and look again, forensically. It's common to find things where you thought they might be in the first place.
  2. Retracing steps method. Think back to the last time you definitely remember having it and try to remember in as much detail as possible what you did after that, and look in every place you think you might have been.
  3. Systematic house search (and car/any outbuildings if relevant). Room by room, look absolutely everywhere - go round edge of the room and work to the middle, down sofas, under things etc. Look in all bags/coat pockets etc. Start with the most likely room and work to the least likely room.

Hope it turns up!

Do the kids have a toy box? Might have found it's way into there

Nitgel · 05/05/2026 08:38

Try using a pendulum it works !

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/05/2026 08:47

Fridge?
Freezer?
Under pillow?
Inside wellies?

Bubblebathbefore8 · 05/05/2026 08:48

Toy box?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 05/05/2026 08:51

In between the Sunday papers?

In the recycling bin on top in the Culture supplement?

Pockets?

Aposterhasnoname · 05/05/2026 08:51

Have the toddlers got a ride on with under seat storage or something along those lines?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 05/05/2026 08:52

Is it on silent?

Can’t you simply call the number?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/05/2026 08:52

Mine sometimes slides out of my pocket when I am driving and goes down the side of the seat and the door.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/05/2026 08:53

Under the sofa
Behind a radiator
In the bin
In the garden, ideally not buried or in the compost heap
In a bag or in a coat or jacket pocket you'd forgotten you used

Whyherewego · 05/05/2026 08:54

If it's an Android then Google can often ring it for you even if it's on silent

Lastofthesummerwines · 05/05/2026 08:54

I lost my phone, thinking my ex had stolen it because it was around the time he last come to my house. I found it the other day when I was moving out of my flat behind a unit which I've never moved. 3 years it was lost.
You need to search room by room. Maybe in the garden, recycling bin, in a bin bag that's been took out to the wheely bin.

hellospring26 · 05/05/2026 08:55

My daughter posted mine through the front door inside to outside. Check the doorstep.

StripedVase · 05/05/2026 08:55

I've found mine in the washing basket more than once from when I've been holding it and depositing washing at the same time... good luck, it is maddening

Annie202 · 05/05/2026 09:09

My granddaughter went through a phase of putting things in the kitchen bin. It took me a while to realise.

Frrrout · 05/05/2026 09:15

Promise to give £10 to a homeless person if it turns up.
And then don’t forget to give the money if it does!

Weeellokthen · 05/05/2026 09:17

Your praying to the wrong saint 😂
It is st Jude, who helps you with lost things.
I'm not religious but my late dm swore by him 😂

Cheersmedears123 · 05/05/2026 09:18

Whenever I lose mine it’s usually in my dressing gown pocket.

dryshampooer · 05/05/2026 09:23

On the windowsill recording bird-song?

CoverLikelyZebra · 05/05/2026 09:28

Forget that it's a phone. If the last person to hold it was a toddler, it is whatever they were pretending it is. Gone are the days when anything lost had been posted into a vcr machine but it will have been put inside something. Whether it was being a piece of toast or a book or a letter to post, it has been inserted into something else as part of a game. If the last person to hold it was you, it's whatever you got it mixed up with when you were distracted by the toddlers and it is in the freezer or larder or saucepan cupboard

Crikeyomalley · 05/05/2026 09:58

Wont help you but I found my missing Kiki McDonagh bangle yesterday in a basket I keep my painting clothes in - phew!

There is a whole nation of Irish grandmother's who would disagree with you. But ok I'll ask st Jude too! I'm only religious on festivals, and when I need something 🤣

Pin the devil.
My guess is it’s slipped down behind one of the settee cushions.
St Anthony is patron saint of lost things. St Jude is lost causes so you could still give him a try 😁

No St Jude is saint of lost causes I think. St Anthony is definitely the guy for lost items.

Purplewarrior · 05/05/2026 10:23

I think it’s somewhere high up…
