Don't mind me, just feeling ultra sorry for myself today. Not one bit of my fucking life is working out the way a planned it and it's a thoroughly shit!
Marriage is in the toilet
Up to my eyes in debt
I feel fat and gross
Work is just awful
Kids are lovely but I'm not being the best parent as I just haven't got the patience to deal with them
Parents are useless
Friends are wrapped up in their own lives
Dog is a nightmare and DH hates him

I'm not depressed and just fucked off. I'm a nice person and I try so hard to make it all work but it's just all so throughly shit!!

Thank you for making it this far. I'm sorry if my pity party has made you sad too. How's your day going?

How old are your kids? Bet you are doing a much better job than you think you are. Kids are hard work, be kind to yourself

Bunce1 · 08/12/2021 19:53

Sorry about ALL of that it’s a lot.

I hope 2022 brings you better things.

DD has Covid. Holiday to French alps cancelled for Christmas. MIL is furious with us.

Arcadia · 08/12/2021 19:56

I feel ya.
Scratched car today.
Complaint about me at work.
Problems with DD's school.
House a mess.
Friends and family all seem to be in crisis.
It's cold dark and miserable.
Covid neverending.
Haven't bought a single Christmas present and just cannot be arsed with any of it.
I feel like my life has shrunk and I'm just in survival mode. Don't feel depressed just fed up.

AppleBottomJeansBootsWithDaFur · 08/12/2021 19:57

They are 5 and 7. They are really sweet but I'm concerned that the big one has some SEN issues which is a worry and keeping me up at night. I don't get enough sleep as it is with the stress of work etc.

I'm sorry that your holiday has been called and your DD is unwell. That's shit too!

  1. Get rid of dog
  2. Go to CAB to get debt advice
  3. Get rid of husband.

This weekend you should have a movie viewing with your children. Buy popcorn and snacks, and sit on the sofa under a blanket cuddled together :)

AppleBottomJeansBootsWithDaFur · 08/12/2021 20:06

I love the dog, he is just a pain in the bum because he is 8 months old and DH hates him... and wont stop going on about how much he hates him!

The debt is sort of under control, I can afford to pay it off, there is just lots as DH doesn't pay for anything except the mortgage and school fees.

Can't get rid of him though because he pays the mortgage and the school fees!!

As me I definitely should cuddle my kiddies and eat popcorn. We would all like that.
Thank you

My top tip for your home cinema is do bath and dinner early without telling them it’s early and tell them they are staying up for a midnight feast. I did this last year and DD1 is still talking about it.

Fallagain · 08/12/2021 20:10

Step change are good for debt advice. Is your marriage over or do you want to/can it be saved?

lilmishap · 08/12/2021 20:14

Der der der der der de de der der de wanky spank.

Yeah with you. Fuck em all.....(No intentions of ltb or the dog just having a moan as is allowed)

Also fucking home sweet home alone? I have to watch 4/5 versions of the same old shit and now theres a new version of the original (which is shit) but I have to watch??????

Merry xmas ya filthy animal.

I mean obviously not advising it but faking your own death in these circumstances has worked for others?
MrsJackWhicher · 08/12/2021 20:16

No advice but love your honesty - so many of us with all shit but less wit! You are funny and that will get you thru…😁

Embracelife · 08/12/2021 20:20

Get rid of dh
He will still have to contribute to school fees

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 08/12/2021 20:28

Sorry it is such a hard time for you. Sending a hug. Being around a moaning DH is enough to make anyone feel shit.

Don't give up on the dog, 8 months is a difficult age, he will get better. I wanted to give ours away at that age, he is now truly the thing that keeps me going somedays.
MMMarmite · 08/12/2021 21:42

What's going on with your marriage? It sounds like he is bringing you down a lot. Are you able to work to improve things together, or is it impossible?

AppleBottomJeansBootsWithDaFur · 08/12/2021 21:53

DH has ASD and it makes things hard between us. He is emotionally unavailable and can be very self absorbed. We are having specialist neurodiverse marriage counselling but she basically tells me that I need to accommodate his needs because he has Autism and isn't capable of accommodating mine.
Which is helpful!! Hmm

MMMarmite · 08/12/2021 21:57

I'm not sure I'd agree with that therapist! It's useful to understand his asd, and that might help you both find creative solutions. But if he's not capable of being a good partner to you, you don't have to stay with him just because he has asd.

Chewbecca · 08/12/2021 22:02

Set a date to go out for a drink with a friend asap. I bet your friends would like to see you.

My best friend went through exactly this and decided that no she actually didn't have to live with someone who made her household feel oppressive and unhappy.

She divorced him and is now with a lovely guy.

You don't need to stick with someone just because there are reasons for his behaviours.

ThackeryBinks · 08/12/2021 22:51

Um not sure if my ex was neuro diverse or just an absolute wanker. However I'm super happy on the other side of it. Sometimes ending it is for the best.

N4ish · 08/12/2021 22:57

You’re paying school fees for primary age children even though you’re in debt? In your position I would ditch the fee paying schools and the dog and work on getting your oldest child assessed.

Silverchamber · 08/12/2021 22:57

STXH had strong ASD traits and I'm honestly so much happier without him. Being apart has highlighted how much I accommodated his needs at the expense of my own.

Your kids are very young, do the school fees need to factor in your happiness here? That's another 13 years of misery.

Keep the dog, and build a happy home.

HollowTalk · 08/12/2021 22:59

I agree with @N4ish. Why on earth are you paying school fees? It seems crazy that you are stressing about that while paying out for something that you could get for nothing. If the local schools aren't good could you think of moving to a place where they are good I'm saving that money?
