Aluminium sash opening windows

Hello,

We are building an extension and want to install aluminium windows that open sash style.

We've found a company www.duration.co.uk/ that makes them, but only have a showroom at their factory in Canvey Island, which is a good distance to travel for us to view them. They have nowhere else we can see the Windows.

Has anyone used them? Or, can anyone recommend aluminium sash Windows. We aren't looking to mimic an old style look, and although wood is lovely, initial quoted are quite high. My DH has seen some UPVC ones that he's OK with, but we're looking to go with Velfac aluminium doors for the garden entrance, and don't really want a mish mash of styles.

Anyone have suggestions?

Don't go with aluminium, they'll warp, and the paint flakes. Look at either timber or high quality upvc, like Rehau.

Hi there,

Why not consider VELFAC throughout the whole extension? You will get all the benefits such as better insulation, low maintenance, the colour of your choice, timber internally and aluminium externally, a clean and modern look on the outside - as you can see, there are many reasons.

If you would like to hear more about what we can offer, please feel free to contact me. I would be more than happy to help with any assistance.

In the meantime, we have a gallery on our website of previous projects we have completed work on as well as case studies - also with extensions. You can see this on velfac.co.uk/domestic/inspiration. If you would like to discuss, you can reach me on 01536 313559.

I hope to hear from you.

Kind Regards,
Gemma Hurst

This is simply not true. As in it's really, really, really spectacularly wrong. Have you have confused aluminium with wood. Confused

I used Duration for three bifold doors and found them a bit hard work. I'm delighted with the product and found the company friendly but they were not great at communication or quotes.

I actually visited the showroom as I was getting a brand new product so couldn't see it elsewhere. It was a useful trip if a bit inconvenient. They did give me a coffee though Smile

I used a product by Smart aluminium. It's now a good as the day it was installed 5 years in.
