The Basics

 Help with registration:

  • Please register a valid email address that you have access to. You'll need to respond to an email to confirm your registration. Mumsnet does not pass your email to anyone else without your express permission.
  • Your talk nickname is the name any messages you post on the discussion boards will appear to come from. As our board is very busy, many popular names are already in use. If the name you want is already taken, try using a MashedUpPhrase instead of a single regular word. If you can't think of one now, leave the field blank and we'll make up a nonsense name you can change later.

Where You Are
  • If you'd like to see recommmendations from local Mumsnetters about your area, please give us your postcode.
  • Mumsnet has a facility (coming soon) to allow you to find other Mumsnetters local to you. If you'd like other Mumsnetters to see your Talk nickname in the lists of local mums, please answer Yes here. If you'd rather not do this right away, you can change this option later.

A Little More About You
  • It helps us if you give us some basic demographic information. This helps us to sell advertising space and keep the site running and free to use. We do not pass your email address to anyone else. Privacy Policy
Year you were born
Are you pregnant now
  • Mumsnet offers regular emails through your pregnancy, and on your child's development over time. If you'd be interested in receiving either of these, please tell us whether you are pregnant, and whether you already have kids.
Do you have children?
If so, how many?

Privacy Policy:
It is Mumsnet's policy NOT to make our mailing list available to any other parties and we would only pass on your email address if we received specific permission to do so from you. The only mails you will receive from us are a single registration confirmation, our weekly parenting news round-ups, which give a brief summary of newsworthy items that you may have missed plus some suggestions for weekend places to visit, plus our individually-tailored developmental emails charting your child's progress (roughly every 3-6 months). We also very occasionally may contact you with an important piece of news about the site or a mail with topical tips based on members contributions to the site but we recognise that you don't want your mailbox clogged up and we keep contact to a minimum. After registering, you may subscribe and unsubscribe from our newsletters individually.

Messages from other members:
Mumsnet members can send each other private messages via the Talk board. We at Mumsnet send these messages, and any person sending you a message does not see your email address, only your talk nickname. If you'd rather not receive these messages, you can specify this after registering.
