  • that decisions on when to have children are NOT TAKEN ONLY BY WOMEN.

'The average age of mothers in this country has hit 30 for the first time as many women are deciding to start their families later in life...'

  • how, by parthenogenesis???

Well, quite. Apart from in my early 20s, I've never actively decided not to have children, I just haven't been with anyone who's been interested in having children with me.

I suppose it has been an active decision in that I haven't gone out every weekend to see how many unknown blokes I can pick up to have unprotected sex with me. And I haven't gone the Helen Archer route, either.

One of my friends can get quite ranty on this subject, talking about how no one ever talks about the Peter Pan men who won't grow up and commit at the time women are wanting/needing to settle down and have children.

And I dare say the cost of housing has nothing to do with this at all.
