woman might lose custody of her children because she has had an abortion

Apologies for a lack of link as I am on my phone and read this on fb. A new York woman's ex husband is using the fact that she is catholic and had an abortion as a means to gain custody of the children. I am absolutely disgusted.
Hopefully someone can link.

Poor woman. These abusive men are just being enabled by the court processes, especially in the US.

OMFG

That's appalling.

And bizarrely, it doesn't say that she was against abortion, catholic or no. Many catholics don't believe / go along with it all, many are catholic through birth/upbringing/culture rather than to do with having a burning belief. So super-double WTAF to that.

And as for what the lawyer said - "it undermines [her] claim that her tumultuous relationship with her ex-husband is actually what has caused her stress, since having sex out of wedlock and deciding to end a pregnancy are also “traumatic” experiences. “She’s traumatized by the abortion I presume, or worse, if she wasn’t traumatized by it,” Alter noted."

What do you do with people like this? What an absolute total fuck-witted woman-hating bastard.

So she had a medical procedure that one in three American women have before the age of 45 and that makes her a potentially unfit mother?

Well, the American social services are going to be busy then.

Are all the men who supported their partners in getting abortions also unfit fathers?

One has to feel sorry for the children in this case - now that the mother has chosen to make public details of the acrimonious children proceedings. She's somewhat shot herself in the foot there. Were this an English court, the Judge on the case would take a very dim view of mother's decision.

Were this an English case, surely many aspects of it would be different, including the admissibility of medical records and the attitude to abortion.

Actually, Beatrix, I feel pretty bloody sorry for a woman who made a legal, common, medical decision having that used against her. Don't you?

But Doctrine it just isn't jolly hockey sticks to actually tell the truth about misogyny and show these men up for the arses that they are.

God forbid that we should feel sorry for the woman. Hmm

It always confuses me when a person who makes public another person's shitty behaviour is the one told they shouldn't have acted that way.

It's a way of silencing the one who has been wronged.
