I like Jane Eyre and remembered reading the part where her cousin (was it her cousin? The missionary person) proposed and she refused and thought "Good for her". Didn't realise quite how early it was written. It would have upset some people then!

Parks and Rec is hilarious. Please watch it if you haven't already. Apart from the fact that it actually has ....gasp.... a non-competitive and non-bitchy relationship between 2 female characters, it is side-splittingly funny.

Also, Fey and Poehler's spoof of Sarah Palin & Hilary Clinton is brilliant - but I can't find a link to the whole thing to share with you all.
