8 things invented by women that men got credit for. To my shame I'd only heard of Lovelace and Franklyn. But at least now I know of the others.

To be fair, I have never had any idea who invented the paper bag machine, whether male or female...

There's quite a lot of sidelining of women in the history of IT, though.

Fantastic article. I have long known the story of Rosalind Franklin, since watching the drama (that had Jeff Goldblum in) and even then had a sense that she was robbed. Her knowledge and hard work weren't enough... I was at least gratified that on studying Dna at a-level we were taught that "Crick and Watson pieced together work of other scientists to come up with the double helix theory...." Hmm Maybe more accurate to say they pinched the work of a female scientist who was probs never taken as seriously as the men...

Good article.

There was a really good one in today's Metro newspaper regarding Ada Lovelace.
