Think what you like about abortion, but I don't think men, especially rich white men, should have any say in anything women can do with regard to reproduction/contraception and abortion.

Cecile Richards writes a (quite rightly) passionate piece for the Huff Post, and Vivian Norris argues for Lysistrata like sex ban until their husbands, boyfriends and lovers see sense and vote this bill down.

Good luck to the women of Texas.

I am totally pro-choice, but I don't think the poor or non-white males should have more of a say than rich white men.
Men should always have a say in conception/reproduction (as in the right to wear a condom/take thier own precautions). There is an argument that a potential father should have a say in thier own progeny.

Oh dear.

I take your point and I want to agree.

But the Norris piece annoys the heck out of me. What a shitty idea - just reinforcing the 'women do sex as a chore' thing.

Protesters outside reached close to ten thousand (unofficial count).

Suggestion is they've done this because of the protesters, probably hoping they'll give up, and not turn up next week.

Rather alarmingly, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst has said anyone shouting from the public gallery, will be jailed for 48 hours.

Freedom of speech is officially dead in Texas.

Am I the only person who doesn't get the Pro-Life argument? Note this took place the day after Wendy Davis' filibuster.
