www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/10022407/The-aristocracy-need-a-dainty-kick-towards-equality-for-women.html

'A few years ago, when Gordon Brown suggested ending male primogeniture in the Royal family, the idea was dismissed by pundits, who said it would be ?practically impossible? since every Commonwealth country would need to agree upon it, yadda yadda, get that broom out and sweep such radicalism under the red carpet pronto. On BBC Radio 4?s Today programme, Jim Naughtie even admonished Brown for raising such petty issues during the financial crisis.

But is there really ever a bad time to address sex discrimination?'

Sorry to post and run but it's late early and I have stuff to do int he morning.
Personally I'm not a fan of the whole inherited piles/titles etc generally but hey ho. She has a point. It woud seem equality is always bottom of the pile.

I can't see any reason why you can't have equality- it seems utter madness for a fourth cousin once removed to inherit when you have 8 children yourself! It is only a matter of time and it will change.

Everyone has said they are going to do it.

But the law hasn't actually changed yet; will they get it done in time? Or will they have to write retrospective legislation to cover the intention from the time the intention was settled? (The "workfare" get out).

Sorry, I posted and then ignored for days...yes Tabard reading helps :) crazy that they aren't doing everyone (as such) at the same time, also crazy that women are still under pressure to produce and 'heir and spare' to stop property and land going toa fifth cousin 5x removed no one has ever met etc.
