I'm 6 ft tall, 41 years old, BMI of 21-22. I'm fit and healthy.

I'm going on a beach holiday in a few weeks and I've been trying to lose weight.

I've had a moment if clarity today where I've realised that I've fallen into the Daily Mail trap and I'm quite pissed off with myself.

I do not need to be the same shape that I was when I was 20.

I've had the same moment of clarity recently - I'm nearly 47; why the fuck do I think I should look like I did when I was 27?

It's not an easy leap to make though - and while I do like to blame the DM for most things, in my case I think it's more to do with a letting go of youth thing, rather than a unrealistic perception of how the female body should look thing.

It's definitely DM etc for me. I'm not too concerned about getting old, but I find myself looking at pictures of Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow and think 'they're the same age as me, I should look like that'.
