Feminism: Sex & gender discussions

Can anyone help me find a particular blog post (or article) about male privilege?

Hi, I've lost all my lovely internet bookmarks. There was a great article linked to on these boards ages ago (prob 2 years or more) about male privilege. It was probably a blog post, quite conversational rather than a dry academic style. I've tried googling and doing a MN search but can't find it.

Does anyone else think they might have bookmarked it? If you don't mind linking I'll know straight away if it's the one I'm after, and of course am open to articles that might be new to me too.

Many thanks.

Do you mean the John Scalzi article about the lowest difficulty setting? this?

Hi Terraria, it wasn't that one, but as it happens that was another of the bookmarks I've lost, so thank you!

I'm pretty sure it was by a woman, and she definitely used the phrase 'Have a cookie' at some point, but I now know that that phrase is used a lot on the internet!

One of her points was something like: 'If you've had a job interview and not got the job, have you ever had to wonder whether it was because of your gender?' But I might be muddling that one up with another about wondering whether it was because of your skin colour.

Sorry, not very helpful.

Hi Doctrine, thanks for posting: it wasn't that one, but it's a good piece so I'm keeping the link.

Ah, I thought it felt familiar: the Peggy McIntosh article it refers to is another of my missing bookmarks! It's like re-finding friends.
