The whole thing is a thing is fake, if you ask me. Set up to serve Hugh Hefner's fading star and Crystal Harris' quest for fame.

He is a geriatric doing a "favour" for a sexy young woman who allowed him to have sex with her.

She is a young woman who believed Hugh Hefner when he promised her that a fake engagement and a dumped-at-the-alter wedding would provide her with the necessary publicity to to launch a singing career.

I fear that it is Hugh who will reap the benefits of this nonsense. I doubt that anyone will recognise Crystal Harris ina line-up two years from now.

i find it a bit unsettleing to see such an old guy with such a young girl.
but that heffeners ego would allow him to be jilted at the alter, staged , sorry i have to doubt that, people will be saying that he is finaly 'over the hill'

Unsettling? Sure, it's gross, but it's barely newsworthy. Rich and powerful old men have expoited very young girls for sex for aeons.

And of course it was staged. Look how cannily Hefner managed the marketing of the Playboy magazine which had "unfortunately" already gone to print with Crystal Harris on the cover under the headline 'Introducing Mrs Hefner'. He stuck huge stickers proclaiming 'runaway bride in this issue' on the front. He gets:

a) massive publicity for his product

b) to assume the role of the victim in the situation (as opposed to a hideous old sleaze)

b) to appear to be a game old guy with a sense of humour and self-deprecation

There is no way that Hefner hasn't stage managed this whole thing from start to finish.

i agree it will actually do him no harm and give him publicity, i thought his ego was bigger though, being dumped isnt terribly virile.

I disagree. I think that his ego is boosted by power and success, not whether or not some hot girl marries him or not. Young women like Harris are disposable, playthings to Hefner. Ther's plenty more where she came from. Hey, he'll probably pick a replacement out of next months issue.
