Is anyone going to 'A conducive context? Misogyny, inequality and violence'?

It's a one day conference, I just got the Facebook invite, as I'm sure many of you did via LFN.

I think I am going to attend - schedule permitting - as I am going to focus my dissertation next year on the evolution of feminism (yet to narrow down entirely how to focus it yet). Just wondered if anyone from here was going?

I've got to work that day :(

But if people are going to be around, then....drink later?

What is it? Is there a link or anything? Or is it invite-only?

It does sound good - am at work too, sadly

Liking the drinks idea though! Grin

Yes I hope to go.

Sorry - should have posted the programme link!

I think it looks really interesting, I don't work on a Wednesday so if I can get DD to go to a friends or nursery I should be able to make it and I never turn down drinks!

Could you not get £10 activist rate? I think the £110 charge is for people going from a business, unless you would be going from a corporate organisation?

I am going to try and attend. It would be nice to catch up afterwards as I have had to leave early both other times I have met MN feminists.

Of course SGM, sorry, you must think I'm a total London-centric idiot assuming everyone lives here/near Blush

I haven't met any MN feminists before - to my knowledge anyway!

That sounds really interesting.

Do you reckon it'd be suitable for a fledgling feminist?

Oh, and will they demand proof of anyone being an activist?

Might be stoopid question but have to ask :)

StewieGriffinsMom - I'm going through an adventurous phase in my life - we can always share a twin room so long as you promise you're not an axe murderer or a heavy snorer Grin

Well, that sounds lovely Lois - let me know if DH diary is in agreement and I'll go and get MY Axe sharpened check if I can have the time off work.

That looks fascinating. I can't make it myself, but would love to read a thread discussing the salient points afterwards....

I think I might be able to come :) I'm close enough that could come down on the train, so just dependent on whether someone can have DS for the whole day.

If I do come, I'll have to hang around until 7 for the return train so if people are having drinks I'd love to join! How exciting :)

This might be a daft question but i'm using the "I've never been to a conference like this" excuse. Do people take notes? I want to take a note book and scribble down things, if I did would I look a complete plonker?

Just marking my place on here to see if I can come / come for a drink. Everything's a bit up in the air at the moment but fingers crossed!

I don't know if anyone wants to meet at Elephant & Castle and find SB university together?

I'll be coming in at Elephant & Castle if I'm coming, at around 9.30 though.
