Can we have a thread for people involved in local feminist networks/groups?

I'm involved in a local feminist network and thought it might be a good idea to have a space on here for others in similar networks/groups.

Sharing ideas/tips on running a group would be really useful and would lessen duplication of mistakes.

If you are part of a local group how is it organised? What are your aims? What kind of things have you done?

Great idea! I am waiting to be free on the date the group in the next town along from me meets, so I can go along and meet some like-minded people.

But on Tuesday next week I am running a Join Me On The Bridge event in my city, and I am hoping to drum up some support for starting a group in my city. I will find this thread of immense help, I think!

This thread gives me yet another chance to publicise my Men's Feminist Book Group, which meets for the first time on Tuesday 8 March (in London).

I got this started by creating a Facebook group & then asking other feminist and pro-feminist groups to add a link from their websites.

We have 40 FB members currently but when it comes to the number who will turn up for the actual meeting I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If you're interested, the FB page is here:
