Jacqui Smith interview

The latest issue of Stylist (a women's mag given out free at train stations) has an interview with Jacqui Smith about you-know-what.

She mostly puts forward a standard feminist anti-pornography position (in fact the article is called PORN IS A FEMINIST ISSUE)

But she also talks about the active & willing involvement of women in the industry, including the 9.4 million women who access porn sites every month (bored housewives exploring Belle De Jour fantasies??)

This kind of thing will be seized on by pro-porners to undermine the feminist case. I don't think it does that, but what is the feminist view of these women's involvement?

Yes I'm also curious about where that figure comes from. You can't detect gender from web analytics software so did they just extrapolate from a survey?

And I agree it makes no difference to the fact that pornography is harmful to women (and men)
