Sex entertainment venue policy consultation in Bristol

For anyone living in or around Bristol who is interested in the SEV consultation:

The consultation on the draft policy is closing on Friday, 19th November. If you have time, please have a look at the draft in the link below and send in your comments.

Bristol City Council are not going for a nil cap and are going to consider each application on a case by case basis.

The conditions that could be attached to a licence are also out to consultation (available on the same link). They have some strange ones, including the requirement that licensees must make available information on family planning, STDs, and sexual problems! It seems that requiring lap dancing club owners to hand out public health information is a sweetener (and a poor one at that) to keep the feminists happy.

In addition, we are making a statement at the Full Council meeting (6pm next Tuesday in the Council House) to ask that the Council takes this opportunity to implement a decent policy. At the moment, it's full of holes. We are concerned that the undemocratic process that was followed for the Hooters licence is a sign of things to come.

If anyone wishes to know more, please either pm or reply to this thread. I realise that this is a pretty specific topic but we need as much support as possible now for the final push now.

Thanks all!
