Is the song a parody?

Oh, just looked up the band on Wiki. One member was convicted of assualting women in a night club and another was arrested and bailed on a charge of rape in Nov 2009. I can't find any update on that.

Is this the one where the boy wants a woman to come home to and the woman wants someone to be the boss?

I don't think Posie. Part of it is sung by a female singer.

N-Dubz - Girls Lyrics :-

Na Na
Niiiiiiiiiii
Girlssssss, I f-ck with themmmm

I don't usually fall in love with them,
But yu should be prescribed to me,
Some chicks are drugs to men
A lot deserve the finer things in life
And I think yuur one of them
Money ain't sh-t got loads to blow, show me a signal.
Let me know, if yu wanna have a better life then baby yu no where to go
Its coming i quick, it ain't flowing in slow
Like I said let me know, if weezy made it rain,
Then I can make it snow

Girlssssss, Im loving them,
But I won't let them get the best of me
Girlssss, Im loving them,
I get them all around the world
What would I do without yu,
What would yu do without me,
Don't need to tell yu baby coz its plain for us to see,
Tonighhtttt
Girlssss, Im loving them
girls girls girls

Girlsssss, I f-ck with them,
They be pinging off my phone telling me they all alone
And they sitting at home while I'm trying to get that dough
And thats why they call me the baddest bitch,
Coz I switch off the rolls
I'm the one that drives the crazy,
They all wish I was there lady
But I'm earning more than them and they say damn that bitch is lazy
I am the biggest female boss that ever lived,
And everything that yu done I've been and did

Girlssssss, Im loving them,
But I won't let them get the best of me
Girlssss, Im loving them,
I get them all around the world
What would I do without yu,
What would yu do without me,
Don't need to tell yu baby coz its plain for us to see,
Tonighhtttt
Girlssss, Im loving them
girls girls girls

When yur girlfriend says she's on her way,
And yur staring at the clock in frustation thinking why is she so late
I just can't live without them, they'll break yur heart no doubt
I'm the reason why she's never coming back,
Simply can't leave me around them

Girlsssss, I f-ck with them,
Tell em anything they wanna hear so by the end of the night, I'm f-cking them
Girlsss, I f-ck with them,
And I know they all gassed not like Mariah,
Yu know what I'm in love in with theeeeemmmm!

Girlssssss, Im loving them,
But I won't let them get the best of me
Girlssss, Im loving them,
I get them all around the world
What would I do without yu,
What would yu do without me,
Don't need to tell yu baby coz its plain for us to see,
Tonighhtttt
Girlssss, Im loving them
girls girls girls

They are twats aren't they? Another song, the single, has the bloke talking about a woman waiting at home and the girl wants a man to be the boss....the utmost fuckwittery.

They really are Posie!

Why do I get the impression that that young man would be the most god-awful fuck?

Report
msrisotto · 04/11/2010 18:18

I def have that impression too Herbeatitude!

that song is woeful. it really is. sadly there are some young girls that really do believe that is their lot in life.

A lot of the songs in the charts are like this though, aren't they? I spend more time changing the station through sheer irritation when I ever bother to put the radio on!

msrisotto · 04/11/2010 18:29

yup, one of the worst culprits is Rihanna. I can't listen to her anymore.

BertieBotts · 04/11/2010 18:29

Although did anyone see N-Dubz on buzzcocks a while back? It was brilliant, he got the piss ripped out of him Grin

Right, just because apparently I have nothing better to do (!) I've just gone through all of the songs in the top 10 and here are my comments on the relevant ones.

  1. Rihanna "Only Girl (In The World)" - Lots of sexual puns; unhealthy relationship obsession-type model.

  1. Cee Lo Green "Forget You" (Charmingly titled 'fuck you' in non edited version) - Saying his ex was a gold digger and "fuck you" to both her and her new partner. (Oh and he'd still be with her if he was rich as clearly that's all it's about)

  1. Mike Posner "Cooler Than Me" - "If I could write you a song to make you fall in love I would already have you...I used up all of my tricks" - niice

  1. The Wanted "Heart Vacancy" - You don't want me back, but you DO REALLY. So I shall stalk and harrass you until you give in.

10. Tinie Tempah "Written in the Stars" - Not a lot to comment on really, although some of his other songs are pretty 'eurgh' but " I got more hits than a disciplined child" - WTF? Confused

There is only one song in the top 10 (3. Bruno Mars "Just the Way You Are (Amazing)") which is actually promoting any kind of good male/female relationship model, IMO.

That's dedication BertieBotts! The Bruno Mars song really pisses me off as it's all about the way the woman looks. Her face etc.

Report
msrisotto · 04/11/2010 20:33

"Her hair falls perfectly without her trying"

Nah mate, it looks a state without trying!

Report
HerBeatitude · 04/11/2010 22:25

See that goes back to that make up thread, where so many men claim not to notice what women look like - it's because they're utterly unaware of the effort that has gone into looking naturally beautiful as if you're not wearing make up and having your hair fall in exactly the right way by blow-drying it correctly (have never managed to master that art, hey ho).

"What do you call a girl with 2 cunts? N-Dubz"

That was a 'joke' I read on another website. The sentiment seems to sum them up quite well, IMO.

A lot of modern middle-of-the-road rap and soul music has that insipid lyric base. Doesn't give youths much to be inspired by, but they are still taken in by it all.

Would now be a bad time to tell everyone that me and my brother went to see them earlier this year.

I cant believe that young women dont have a problem with this type of shit. What is wrong with them! It makes me so fucking mad. I am 50 years old and am swearing online, my God!!!!!! I am so enraged. I could shake that idiotic 'female' by the throat. Do all young women just have to go along with me nowadays!

You are, in MANY circles, treated as a social pariah if you say things like "Will you stop staring at my breast, please?" or "He's not babysitting at all, he's caring for his own children" or "Why on Earth would I kiss you to get their attention? I'm not gay and anyone who finds two 17 year olds faux-snogging on a dancefloor to be a turn on is not someone I want anywhere near me!"

These circles tend to be young, yes, but I'm not sure if it's culturally the norm for the generation or simply a result of inexperience. It was like this when I was 17, but we all grew up.

When I was a teenager in the 70s most of the young women I mixed with were going to change the world (or so we thought!), Pleasing the boys wasnt our first priority. I think it is the media who have persuaded young women they are here just to please boys.
