Fitness hell!

I've just committed to doing a 30 minute fitness routine (DVD) 3 times a week. Just completed first session, and not sure I'm still alive (well I must be) but really am half dead! Some of the routines I just couldn't physically do, like lying flat on your back then lifting your legs( both on top of each other, whilst lifting your back at the same time Shock dear God I hope I get through this. I need to lose a stone. I'm told it gets better, but when? How soon? Help! I want to be fit.
