I found a diet online for losing a stone in a week, not sure how to post links but you can find it by googling 'lose a stone in a week ' bhf diet. It is basically three meal plans a day, involves unlimited portions some nights and a lot of eggs n grapefruit..., it really appeals to me as have a reunion planned for next weekend. I am 5 foot 3, 10 stone 8 and I feel grotesque sick of my double chin and wobbly thighs! Would it be mad to give this a go for a week? Anyone tried it or similar? Or is there a better way I can get to 10 stone by the weekend..?

Get a limb chopped off? Grin

Take it as the motivation to make some sensible changes to lose the weight gradually. Wear something nice and enjoy the reunion.

I think it probably works as long as you don't mind gaining it back plus extra/double the following week.

I think this is a pre op British heart foundation diet. It's aimed at very overweight people.
If you want to lose weight fast try a Jason vale detox or no carb ?? I lost just under a stone in 3 weeks by juicing followed by low carbing. I have kept it off but my whole attitude to food has changed

Hi Tripping I just found this online last night too. Yep, it is a crash diet but only temporary. I just lost over 7 lbs in the last two weeks and I want to see if I can knock some more pounds off fast so I'll join you if you want to give it a go. I started today with toast and tomato for brekky. I take a multivitamin when losing weight and this diet is low in calcium so would advise a multi.

I was focusing on losing weight earlier in the year and got to 141 - or just over 10 stone but then had a big house move and couldn't focus. Two weeks ago I was 157.5 (11 stone 3.5) and today I'm 150.25 (10 stone 10.25). My first goal is to get to 10 stone and then keep going.

You could only lose that much if you've got loads to lose. Or if you chop an arm off. But watching with interest. Whats the diet called?

Don't do it. I have spent 20 years yo yo dieting and trying every single diet going and guess what? I am still fat. The only difference is it is now harder to lose weight as I have fucked up my metabolism from doing it.

I found one when you Google James Duncan diet. I am not the OP but doing this as an experiment. When I was losing earlier this year it was by using MFP and watching calories. Forgot to mention the main reason I lost focus was I thought I had anemia (which I had a few years ago) after blood tests it turned out my vit D was extremely low so am on supplements.

Now the stress is down and Vit D up I am on a roll again. I lost my first 7 pounds via MFP as before. I just want to do this and see what will happen in a week as I have never tried a crash diet like this.

Girls, it is this kind of thinking that is holding you back - weight loss is not about dieting. Dieting will only work for a short-term, you will end up putting whatever weight you lose back on (or more) as soon as you inevitably give up on it. I have been there and done that many times, and the majority of you probably have too.

What you need is to shift your focus away from "losing weight" and instead think "live healthily" or "create the figure I want".

There are some great programs available which do just that (reviews of the best and worst can be found here) which help you to get healthy (which also means slimmer!) in a way that is suatainable in the long-term, and which teach you how you can still eat food you love as long as it is in moderation.

Fad diets are not sustainable, and they also make you miserable. Living healthily is something that we should aim for, not just "being skinny".

So did anyone lose the magic stone in a week?

Noro virus has similar effects

any sort of crash diet will result in a yoyo

please don't

you need to work out a way of eating that will last you 40 years, not ten days

I lost 7lb in a week before I went on holiday last month. Specifically so I could put the 7lb back on whilst on holiday. Worked a treat. Grin
