Okay so I have recently cut out alcohol, caffeine tea & coffee, fizzy drinks and dairy products mainly milk. Now I am drinking 4l of water a day. Will I see/notice any difference weight wise or otherwise? Have 4 stone to lose trying to make small changes.

I think it depends on what you're eating.

Have quite decent diet. Hardly no processed food. Cook everything from scratch. Lot of salad. I do eat carbs thought. Just hate how ive let myself get so fat. Second son is 7months now. Two csections ruined my stomach. Must loose weight!!!

See how it goes then. If you are not satisfied with the results you can quite easily cut down carbs.

I have courgette strips instead of pasta, or aubergine slices instead of lasagna sheets. Salads, eggs for breakfast, omelettes, homemade soups. There are load of recipes on the boot camp threads.

Honestly, it will only make a difference if you are also moderate with everything else. Lots of other processed sugar on its own will undermine all that good work in no time.

My best advice if you want to see big results is to cut out all processed sugar (i.e. apart from fresh fruit). So no sweets, chocolate, cake, fruit juice, squash, fizzy etc. Wine actually has relatively few calories per ml so a small glass every other day or so will have a lot less impact on you weight than say, a large glass of orange juice of or squash.

Caffeine itself will have no impact on weight loss, unless you are adding lots of sugar to your drinks and/or having lots of large lattes!

I lost 1.5 stone in ten weeks by cutting out sugar, reducing the number and size of portions of carbs (one small portion per day of bread, pasta or rice - just one, not all three!) and being more mindful of portion sizes in general.

I still had lots of coffee and tea, and a medium glass of red wine most nights. If you feel like you are denying yourself you could add back in some caffeine and wine without much impact.

Good luck!

hooray thanks for that I drink a lot of tropicana didn't realise that was bad!?!? Have stopped the red bulls, wine, lattes etc though. My diet ia pretty much healthy so maybe its rhe liquid calories? I want to cut down on booze more because drink is a big problem in our family a few relatives are alcoholics and it scares me.

bakingtins I will check it out thanks

layla, check out the calories and sugar per serving of juice (actually measure what a normal glass size is for you, then work out how many calories that is per day). A small glass now and then isn't bad, but as a main drink you could add the equivalent of an extra meal to your daily intake. The amount of sugar in juice is also not great for blood sugar levels and can make you crave more.

Do you use the My Fitness Pal app? It really opened my eyes to how many calories are in foods - I really couldn't believe how wrong some of my assumptions were!

IME cutting out caffienne alone ,epecially if you OD on it, wil help you lose weight fast!! It works for me and dh also dd2

I lost nearly 3 stone with Paul Mckenna and a healthy diet like yours. As OPs have said if you eat mainly fresh foods and only when you're hungry and EAT when you ARE hungry ,but slowly and consciously, it works.I also maintain my loss like this.

I eat tasty food (I don't feel deprived of 'nice' food) I make salads with grated carrots and onion with fresh lemon juice and olive oil withsome mustard. Also I eat carbs but 'whole rice' cooked well. and pure rye and spelt toast with olive oil instead of butter and marmite\peanut butter.

Also amazing fruit smoothies for breakfast with ground almonds for protein and creaminess!
