Can't shift this last stone!

BiteMeEricNorthman · 22/07/2014 14:16

Over the last 7 months, I've lost just over 3 stone and am one stone away from my target. But it's just not shifting!! Over the past four weeks I've lost a measly 3 pounds, which I know is 3 pounds in the right direction but it's still frustrating!

I have a holiday booked for mid September and am desperate to look good in a bikini for the first time ever

Anyone else just reached a stale mate?

Well done for losing so much!!! I'm constantly at the stage of just needing to shift a stone. 14 lbs doesn't sound much does it but makes so much difference. Sorry can't offer any magic advice but will watcj=h with interest x

Bite, I could have written your post! I've lost 50lbs in the last year although 2 of the fuckers have snuck back in the last 2 weeks and I'm finding the last stone so hard. We're hoping to get away on 13 September, and I too have bought my first bikini which I'm determined to wear. What are you doing? I'm using MFP to track calories (1200daily goal), bootcamp or kettlebells class twice a week and 2x 5km runs. Would you fancy a weekly weigh in?

Thanks 40! It's just frustrating because I've come so far yet I still have a flabby stomach, and wouldn't be seen dead in a skirt without leggings/tights so really, I'm at the same stage I was at the beginning of the year!

Fruit, I've been on mfp as well, 1200 calories. I was dough 5:2 but just found it so difficult. Have done nothing but eat crap these past 2 weeks though! I have been swimming and started the 30 day shred a couple of weeks ago. Did it every day for 8 days then hurt my leg and haven't don't it since!

A weekly weigh in sounds brill, I'm currently 9stone 11. Well I was last time I weighed myself 2 weeks ago anyway, have been too scared weigh myself since! I usually weigh myself Friday mornings?

Eric, that is grossly unfair (literally)...your current weight is my target!! Envy

I weighed myself this morning and I'm 69.1kg / 10st 12lbs. Even after a year I can't seem to get into a regular pattern for weighing myself, but I'll try to do it on a Friday too or just log whatever is my lightest in the week .

I'm really short though so I'm still classed as over weight. I have been really good at weighing myself every week, but when I have a bad week I just skip it because I'm in denial.

I really have had a couple of bad weeks, I've got a hen party this weekend and then the wedding next weekend, and even though I will try and make good choices, I know I'll spend both weekends eating and drinking constantly!

I'm going to weigh myself this morning before work so I know exactly what weight I am now and go from there! Will post later after I've been out for dinner and had a Krispy Kreme donut

But you haven't reached a stalemate if you've lost 3lbs in the last 4 weeks!

Your rate of loss inevitably slows when you get nearer your target weight. I know it's frustrating, but the scales are going in the right direction for you.

What plan are you following?

Well, today marks one year of weight loss for me and while it's a little less than I'd hoped/planned, I'm down 49lbs. I've another 12 or so to go to get me to my target (9-13, I want to be under 10st!). I'm a shortie too, Eric, but after years of being on the far side of the obese line, I'm going to settle for cruising on the border of normal! How did your weekend of fun food go?

Biwi, I'm not sure if you were asking generally so I'm going to answer anyway but I'm doing a reasonably low calorie diet with 4 runs or classes a week.

Grin

I was asking Eric, but obviously see you're in the same boat!

Have you considered cutting down your carbs? Just doing something different might help you anyway.

Whoops! Grin Yeah, I have considered low carbing, but honest to gods, I just bloody love the things. Realistically, my cards have dropped significantly as a slice of bread just takes up too many of my daily calories goal. I eat a lot of fruit too, which I'd find hard to give up. Really, I just need a good kick up the ass to get back on my wagon, keep tighter control of my logging and sticking to my exercise routine. We finally booked our holidays this evening so I've 7weeks to get fighting fit for my itsy bitsy bikini - hopefully that'll give me a renewed incentive!
