Getting married next June. Could do with losing couple of stone.

I'm size 14 now, 5 ft 8", weigh aroung 12st 10. My main problem area is my tum but think that's mainly down to my age as am in my 40s. Plus I don't exercise that area enough Blush

I'm getting married next June and want to look my best. It's going to be a low key wedding and the dress style I fancy is 50s short ballgown. Although when I look on wedding sites it says empire's best for tum hiding?

I really do need to lose around 2 stone and tone up. I just feel so bloated. I eat fairly healthily anyway and am active but seem stuck.

Anyone else got a couple of stone to lose? Or getting married?

Yes me!
I'm exactly the same as you!

5 8, 12 st 11 and tummy is my trouble.

Certainly apple shaped! I want to be 12 in the next month then slowly head towards 11stone

Congrats for your wedding!

Wow are we twins Norfolknway (love the name) Grin

Do you think you can get to size 12 within a month? I've never been one to diet. I think being fairly tall makes the weight gain less noticeable? But the tummy is such a pain.

My mums problem area is her tum and she cut right down on sugar and has noticed a massive difference especially around the waist.

Thanks for that Ginger. I don't have a sweet tooth but do take sugar in hot drinks. I'll try to cut that down. I did have some half/half sugar but have run out.

God, I hope that didn't sound patronising Confused sorry.
By sugar she ditched a lot of things (or swapped) so I guess more like a low carb diet rather than just ditching sweets and cake.
She just found a massive decrease around her middle, like it took all her bloat away.

No not at all? Not sure why you'd think that? I love sugar in tea and coffee so it won't be easy but I do need to do it. Mind you sugar's in wine and allsorts of things we don't think of. I'm having a gin and diet tonic at the moment instead of wine Wink

You're right about carbs, fruit and such.

Why do you think your tummy is related to your age? Is it because you've had a few children? Best exercise for tums that I know is rowing, if it's done properly. And diet-wise you could try cutting down on wheat as this tends to bloat the stomach.

As women age they do tend to gain fat around the stomach area. Hormones perhaps?

I quite enjoy rowing. We're away for a week and taking the kayak so I'll try to fit in a good bit of rowing. I hate gyms but this looks good and quite compact.

Funny you should mention wheat I've only today decided to cut back on carbs, including wheat.
