Hi! My name is(n't) Humble and I'm fat.
I need to get back on the low carb, where I was losing weight and happy.
I need to be moving about, walking usually, because if I don't its all over for me.
I have to lose weight. I must. And this time I must keep it off.

If anyone wants to join me, or has positive advice to offer, please post. I'm feeling like I live in a fat universe of one, right now.

And I'm starting now. When I've read the 'Changing Lifestyle' thread in chat, I'm going to stop playing on the internet and do some work.

I lost 5 stone and took up running in my last lifestyle change. 1 of my dc took up running too

Then I got a job and put half a stone back on and running time has reduced

So.... I need to get back to it. I intend to juice more, lose a bit more weight, then by sept I hope to start my next half marathon training plan

I also want to cut back on Internet time.... Drink more water than I do..... And get more sleep

my name isn't Barbara, and I am fat

Haven't exercised in 6 months

Have a big problem with sweet, chocs, and generally overeating.

for the past week I've been eating more healthily - no processed crap at all, more fruit, veg and lean protein - as a sort of gentle pre-diet buffer

tomorrow I start properly. Normal portions, no shitty snacks, and exercise 2 x weekly. I know twice weekly is not enough really, but am trying to be realistic to start with.

That's great, you can build on it and improve

I'm fat too and desperately need to do something about it as it's really getting me down. I need to lose a couple of stone but am really struggling; I've never really been very overweight but as I approach 50 I just seem to be piling on the pounds. None of my clothes fit and I feel old and frumpy.

I've been cutting down a little over the last few days but reading this thread and thinking maybe I could get some support here and give it to others makes me more determined to start in earnest tomorrow..

Will be cutting down my portions, cutting down on wine (hard!) and exercising more. I swim a bit but really would like to get back into running but I find it so so difficult. Am hoping if I could lose a bit of weight it might get easier.

So pleased to join you all!

Count me in too please! I have a couple of stone to lose, but mostly I just want to feel good about myself again and get my energy levels up. Good luck everyone.

Well I'm going to bootcamp in the morning and will run 5 k before it, this is usual for me on a mon morning. I will juice and freeze some tonight to take to work

I log it all on myfitnesspal... Has everyone got that app? I recommend it.

Juicing isn't for everyone, but the health benefits are impressive.

Preparing juice and exercise gear tonight

I am starting a big change too, I say that a lot but seriously I need to now. Like life or death need to.

However part of my change is going to be to give up Mumsnet so I use my time more wisely! I'll pop back every so often but I can't keep getting sucked in and wasting my time, even if I just use that time walking up and down the hallway or something.

Another thing I need to really change is making sensible choices when I'm out- I find it way to easy to 'treat myself' but I need to make every day healthy not just Monday and Tuesday!

Running sounds great, but at present if I took it up it would kill me, but the walking is my starting point.
Normal portions would make a massive difference to my life.
I'm doing ok on water, I've kept to about 3l a day since the bootcamp in May.
I'm going to google 'juicing', but I don't do any food prep at home and haven't for years - might need to change that.
I too thought giving up MN (and my other favourite forum) would be a big help. This thread is supposed to give me a substitute and keep me out of 'Relationships'. Grin
Amy, is that an ad? Is it allowed?
I'm going to post my weight tomorrow. I've never done that, anywhere.

Ignore the juiceplus person - they keep sneaking onto MN and trying to advertise!

Amy you are spamming the boards... Not allowed

Yes, have also giving up MN! I've been on it all night while the football is on

Posting your weight is a good plan! I might do that too

I also need to keep off MN and Facebook and love the idea that I could focus on this thread instead.

I'm not worried about posting my weight - I'm worried about stepping on the scales and finding out what it is!!! But agree its a good plan.

Hi all
Can I join in too? I'm also really needing to lose weight and start exercising. I've a couple of stone to shift. It's really getting me down, I feel /am fat and frumpy! I'm just so exhausted all the time so having a check up at the docs this week too. I started running a couple of years ago but had to give up due to injury and never got back to it. Really want to now but it's a bit too light in the evenings at the moment - I feel very self conscious if I think people who know me will see me. I'm also going to look into joining a gym so will make that call tomorrow.

Today's the day!
Here goes. I'm five foot three and I weigh 119.5 kg, dangerously overweight. Its the most I've weighed for over a year and a lot of it has to go.
'Normal portions' is my theme for the day. Breakfast will be a normal portion of strawberries with a normal portion of yoghurt.
Which will be fine for five minutes.
Anyway, I have lots of lovely water chilling in the fridge with which to fill any gaps, so off I go. Better health is coming my way.
I'm going to try to find a tape measure later...

Welcome Jerin and anyone else who wants to join us on our journey.

Oh, and I'm trying to spend less time on the internet... so if you see me on MN other than here, you could always remind me....
:)

Morning.

Weight 11st 9

Report
jerin · 14/07/2014 09:31

10st 12 for me. That's the heaviest I've ever been, I'm 5'4.
That's after 2 coffees and a handful of kids cereal.

I'm off to meet a friend, no cakes allowed.

I'm vegetarian and struggle to liven up my plate, I also go dairy free in the winter which helps me avoid ear infections and getting bunged up. At least with this lovely sunshine I don't mind eating salads.

I'm aiming for lots of water and to start an exercise regime. I've got the DVDs but never have an empty house so never feel comfortable doing it.

Ran just short of 3 miles this morning, then did an hour at bootcamp.... Was hot, and I will be v achey tomorrow, I know that. Nothing to eat at all before running, had fruit and oatcakes and a coffee then went to work.

I'm 6 feet tall and weighed 14.1 stones this morning.

Just finished work. Going home to juice and will freeze some for tomorrow, then it's danger time for me. Dinner. Having pasta/salad. Got some dark choc left from the weekend. After that I need to stay out of the kitchen!

Not today I havent. I usually have eggs boiled ready and chicken to hand. Had some almonds at work too, forgot those. Not many

Usually eat protein after a run. Shopping being delivered within the hour. Mondays are always 'lean'

I've had a bad day! I usually start really well...
Emotionally challenged today, and probably tomorrow. Will keep trying. Had a second walk.

Yes, it was a bad day! Up x2 kg. Lovely [ironic tone. I want to win this time. I really do]. Today is likely to be emotionally fraught, too, but will try to keep a lid on it.

Wider lifestyle change - paid two bills online this morning instead of hiding my head in the sand. One was a new supermarket credit card - to help me find out how much I spend - and it was shocking! So, that's something to work on, too.

About to get washed, dressed and walk. That should help a bit.
