Seen a dress in a charity shop - but it's too long..

Dp and I have been engaged for a while (4 years) but have recently started talking about an actual wedding - two dc later. We're thinking 2016 and I'm liking the idea of a September wedding.

I spotted a dress today walking past the charity shop and tried it on the style isn't exactly what I was imaging but it is the one thing I want which is a dress that isn't strapless. However it is miles too long though fits perfectly on top. It's £85 is this the right type of price for a charity shop dress? (The particular charity shop has some strange prices and I often find things that are v expensive imo in there) Also will I be able to get someone to adjust it if necessary? It is the first dress I have tried on ever but also I'm not really a dressy person.

Well you should be able to definitely find some one to adjust it especially if its just the length.
£85 is a bargain for a wedding dress. Is it in good condition? Clean?
Only you can really decide of its worth the money as no one else has seen it.
Did it have labels in. could you find out what make it is then you'd know how much it cost new.

Thanks It's in excellent condition the label had been cut out as I did want to try and find how much it may have cost. I do think it's worth the money just worried I am being too hasty.

It has quite a long train would that make a difference to alterations? I am clueless if you can't tell!

Shouldn't be a problem for a good dressmaker.
Are you on a tight budget?
I would say go and try some others on to be sure it's the one, plus it's lots of fun!
Not sure how quickly it would get sold though.

I got my wedding dress in Oxfam for £99 nearly 8 years ago, so I think £85 is a good price. I doubt you could hire one for less.

I'd buy it but not get it altered till I was absolutely sure. If you changed your mind, do you think you'd make your money back on ebay?

I went back today and it was still there but reduced! I was going back to buy it anyway I thought if it's still there after a few days then it's meant to be.

I'm just going to store it for now and will look into getting it altered closer to the time. It really os beautiful, I am on a budget though not tiny and I'm unsure if I would be able to spend so much more money on a dress, I'm rather excited right now.

Does it need a hoop under it? That may make a big difference to the length if it's a princess or Aline style. It sounds as if the dress is such a bargain! well done!
