Traditional British wedding gift ???

I'm stuck on ideas for a traditional British wedding gift to send to a lovely French girl and her new husband.
When I was 18, I was an au-pair for her family, and she was 4yrs old. The parents treated me very well, the whole family were great and we have stayed in touch for over 20 years. They very kindly invited us (me, DH & 3 DC) to her wedding, we can't go for various reasons, but I would like to send a British gift. Nothing tacky, and it must be postable. Max £50. Any ideas ???

what about a bottle of Scottish whiskey or a Damson gin? An english oak box/ small mirror? Is there anything British you craved when you lived with them that you introduced to them e.g a type of sweets, British books (Enid Blyton et?)
