Off the peg wedding dress - I'm 5'2'' ! Help!

Hi all. Does anyone know where I can find an off-the-peg wedding dress for a shorter lady like me? I love the Monsoon dresses but the bottoms cant be altered for the dresses I like, as they are scalloped. Getting married in just four months (in the Carribbean) but also having a small winter church wedding too for the family. I want something non fussy with no train. Just a full length dress - well, full length at my height! Help!

If the monsoon dress has a waistband you can take it up at the waist.

Have a look for 'ballerina' length, that should be long on you.

I got a lovely one from phase eight and the dress maker took it up with no problem at all ! I'm 5ft .. Good luck !

My dress is at seamtress now is going to be £50 to take up and that's because of beading, so it could even be less than that. Mine is a Kitty and dulcie dress and is gorgeous and cheap!

A good dressmaker can take any dress up.

My wedding dress had an unbelievably intricate layer of lace and beading at the bottom and it was shortened within a few days.

Thank you. You have made me feel better. The search has been demoralising so far. I'm short and currently a size 14 but dieting for my big day. Nothing looks nice with big arms and huge trains. It's hard to visualise what I will look like when it's been altered and I'm slimmer. I looked at ballerina but they all puff out. I just want an empire line with some sleeves but seems so hard to find!

If it's empire line it can be taken up from the waist, the scalloped edging will be fine

Have you looked in House of Fraser? I got my wedding dress from there and they do the kind of styles you're after
