Can someone reassure me that I have done the right thing ref: dress?

I have a year to go, so ample time. Went into a couple of bridal shops and they were very snooty and off-putting. My budget was £300 and I found an amazing second hand/vintage dress shop. Have spent £400 total including alterations for a vintage Pronovias dress.

Does this sound right? I haven't paid yet. Got no doubts with the authenticity and the dress is beautiful but I'm worried I didn't look further afield... It was literally the third dress I tried on and the first shop I've tried anything on in. DM is worried that I haven't tried lots of other places as well but I don't think I will get something as such good quality and so beautiful for the same price. I looked in Coast, for example, and whilst the dresses were pretty and nice and within budget (there was a sale) they weren't a patch on the ones I was trying on for the same money in the vintage shop.

It feels a bit quick? However as each dress is unique (vintage shop) if I didn't buy it then someone else would and I might regret it later (I think I would, it's beautiful).

Dont fret.

Ive never been in a bridal shop despite being married, as I saw a dress on the Monsoon website and went there to try it on thinking id buy it if it looked good on. I took the £250 it was priced at just incase and lo, it not only fitted perfectly and looked good, it was on sale, only one in my size and down to a bargainous £65!

Dont fret.

Much like your husband, you know when youve found The One.

When you know it's your dress you know. That's how I see it, others might feel differently!

My dress is currently sitting in a bargain wedding shop an hour away by car, whilst I rock back and forth hoping it doesn't sell out. I haven't even tried it on I just know THAT is my dress and no other will doSad

I would say you've done the right thing. As you say yourself, none of the others you've seen are as good as your dress.

I had the same issue when I went to a proper wedding dress shop, I felt really judged. And the dresses were lovely but I just wasn't feeling it.

Thank you :) I think I'm worried because it's a huge amount of money to spend on a dress. I thought I would spend £60 and be happy but when I saw the type of princess style dresses in the shop I really wanted one Blush It's so not me to be like that, my Mum was horrified! Grin

Yes, you know when it's the right dress.

I bought the first one I tried on. I tried lots of others in several different shops, and ended up going back for the first one.

I found it in a small, friendly, local, independent bridal shop. I never regretted my choice, and I still have the dress nearly 25 years later only it wouldn't fit me now

Of course you have! It's obviously the right dress for you as you haven't said a single thing about you having doubts, just other people having them.

It's your wedding/party and hope you have the day the way you and soon to be DH want in a dress you love. Grin

Very many congratulations, by the way.

If you love it then theres not a problem. I bought the first dress I tried on. I didn't try any others because I knew it was the one.

Buy it! You're very lucky to have found it - I tried on 'The One' before looking at the price tag. It is now 'The One I refused to pay £1,800 for!' Have yet to find one that comes even close Sad.
