My mum had mental health isssues and while my dad was a user of speed he tried very hard to make sure I saw very little. He was always there for me and sometimes It felt like It was just him and me.
.When I was 15 he had amphetamine pychosis and ended up hurting my mum physically and I had to step in.

After that he refused to see me as I was better off without him and he didnt want to hurt me again. I feel he earned the right to walk me down the aisle he sounds like a abusive drug user but he was a good dad and was always there when I needed him and he Did take care of me.

But he wont be coming to the wedding. Sorry for depressing post in such a happy topic but I had to tell someone How I feel.

So who is walking you down the aisle?

My dad isn't coming to my wedding either. My mum is walking in with me.

I would suggest trying to track him down.
But this may take a long time. Or not?
I suppose it would be up to you as to whether that is a good idea so close to your wedding date?

My uncle who is more like a brother is walking me down the aisle I think im just gonna accept things as they are and consider whether to track down after the wedding.

This is probably really obvious but have you tried looking for him on Facebook? You still have time to find him if that is what you want.

I think that is probably a good idea.
I should imagine that finding someone again after a number of years is going to be emotional for several people.

Glad you are going to have your uncle there on you wedding day.
Hope you will still have a lovely day. And if you choose and are able to find your dad, he will be able to see some lovely photos.

Poor you.

My Dad was diagnosed with cancer three months before our wedding. He was very poorly. I found out the day before he wouldn't be able to make it to the wedding. Sad

Can you do an extensive Google search? I'm amazed what I've found when I've tried to find people online. It's a bit scary actually!

My dad died 10 years ago and I am upset he never walked me down the aisle last year. If you don't try and contact him you might regret it? So do think about it .
