My bf is getting married in December. Anyone else ? She's having a church wedding and a hotel reception. Only a buffet, not a big posh affair. Any tips or ideas from anyone, so that I can help her plan an amazing day, would be much appreciated. Thanks. Thanks

I've been to 2 December weddings. Both served mince pies with the coffees. Lots of holly and mistletoe. One was gloriously sunny and the other blowing a gale so photos were inside.

Oh, mince pies and mulled wine, great ideas. She's had a tough couple of years and is now so happy, so am really excited for her.

I had a Christmas wedding - we had holly and ivy wrapped round candlesticks, miniature Xmas trees, white (fake) fur, mini mince pies, a roaring fire at the venue etc.

make the most of the colour scheme the hotel is using to decorate. we married at the end of november and the hotel agreed to bring their christmas decorating forward by 36hours so it was already decorated, I just asked what their colour scheme was and went from there.

I bought glass tealights from ikea and decorated with glass pens - there was one at each seat and they were all lit just before dinner.

Can everyone who had a greta Christmas wedding (or has been to one as a guest) please tell me where you had it? Am planning to get married in December 2014, but really stuck for venue inspiration!

Thanks for the tips. Lots of mulled wine, mince pies, holly, and teas lights seen like a great idea. I can't wait. I've never been to a winter wedding before, and am going to have lots of fun helping plan this one, with my bf.

A Christmas bride I knew had a gorgeous green velvet cloak made to wear to and from the ceremony. It really did look like a fairytale, and not in a bad way.
