Congratulations!

I'm not sure what the prices are, as you have to contact the venues directly.
Have a look at Blenheim palace- real wow factor if within your budget. Orangery or Great Hall for your 115 guests.

The Ashmolean Museum, but its only licensed for 95 guests

Eynsham Hall in Witney. They also do accommodation on site and have lovely grounds.

Also, if you haven't already done so, go have a look in Bridal magazines for ideas. Good luck!

Congratulations!

Oxford and surrounding areas can be very expensive. Is that £7k for venue, or for wedding in total?

try Hawkwell House Hotel in Iffley. Two sets of colleagues are marrying there in the next year. We also married there 12 years ago.

The second couple marrying next feb are paying the same as we did 12 yrs ago!

Another wedding we loved was a wedding on the salters steamers - the couple married in the registry office with direct family then we all met them at the boatyard. The boats will take a band aswell. We then took a trip between Oxford and Abingdon and back again. We stopped half way, got off the boat and the wedding cake was set up on the tow path, then speeches and cake cutting occurred. Different but enjoyed by all.

Thanks for all suggestions. However after a long think we have made the decision to get married nearer where we live in Southampton rather than where his parents live.

Concluded would be easier to organise if could get to venue and related things easier.
