Help! DP and I need a photographer for our wedding at the end if April. We had hoped that DP's cousin who is a final year photography student would do it, but he doesn't want to do it.

I actually hate having my photo taken but we want a nice record of the day, and family would be upset if we don't have some decent pics.

I am trying to keep costs down but I would quite like a photographer just for the ceremony and family photos afterwards so would rather pay a good photographer to attend for just a few hours, than pay a mediocre one for the whole afternoon and evening.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Try this guy //www.sottuphotography.com. He's above average in price but his pics are amazing and he's very good for those that don't like having thier picture taken! May work for you if you only want a few hours!

Thanks Therewasalwaysone. I love his pictures! I have emailed him to see if he would be prepared to do a much shorter time than normal.

Hopefully it all works out, glad to have helped! He will definitely be my wedding photographer too! I'm also camera shy and seeing what he does with his pics gives me loads of reassurance. I've seen some wedding photography disasters in my time I tell you. I'm prepared to pay more for him than my guests food if needs be ;-)

keep your eye on groupon, we have a photographer from 10am - midnight, 600 edited photos on disc and a 50 page photo book for £295 and as we've offered him to sit down as a guest for the meal so he can have some food he's offered us a pre wedding shoot at the venue with 20 photos on disc for free Grin

Not quite the right area but I highly recommend Kim Taylor Photography in Petersfield.

She did our photos when she was just starting out in business and was totally responsive to our wishes. We had lovely reportage and snapshot style photos (and I'm not photogenic so she must have sorted very thoroughly because I was delighted). On her website you can see some more posed photos if you prefer that style. She's a very nice person and joined in perfectly during the getting ready bit.

I got married a month ago yesterday, and our photographer was amazing. He is from Norfolk but is willing to travel. Would you like the info?

I got married in January and our photographer was amazing and really reasonable. Her name is Julia and she's lovely. We got so many compliments on how efficient (but nice!) she was and how wonderful the photos are.

Dan Maudsley did our photos and he was absolutely wonderful - the photos were lovely (and well priced) and he's a lovely bloke too.

We're looking at this guy for ours and similarly would like a package for a shorter period. Always worth an ask, say I!

Hi all

We have gone with the suggestion made by Thereisalwaysone up thread - well, we have a booking with the assistant photographer rather than the main guy.

He included a 'location /engagement shoot' in the price and the photos are really fabulous.

The main photographer actually comes across as quite disconcerting as he is just soo enthusiastic about his job it seems too good to be true - but he is just 100% enthusiastic, and hugely talented too!
