What did you do? My worst nightmare would involve a stripper! Probably be about 6 of us! Would west end show, drinks and dinner be too tame?

Not too tame if it's what you want to do!

I was the same as you, so we went to the horses in the day then meal, drinks and dancing in the evening. We could still get dressed up (two outfits needed, of course!), not everyone knew each other so it was good having something to do, and a few of us even managed to win some money.

Just be clear to whoever is organising things that when you say you don't want a stripper etc, they know you really mean it

Horses sounds like a great idea! I think a whole day event like yours is such a good idea when not everyone knows each other!

Our local adult education centre has started doing hen days - make your own fascinators, make your own jewellery, life drawing.... I thought it looked fun.

We went to Ladies Day at Royal Ascot for my SiL's hen do a couple of years ago. Was a really nice day and meant it was less awkward cause there were two distinct groups of people - her friends and family from home and her friends from work and where she lived then. We stayed in a lovely hotel with a spa so was a really nice couple of days!

Went to the races at Newmarket, stayed in hotel with spa, then went clay pigeon shooting the next day followed by pub lunch. Very civilised, and no strippers. A big win on the first race by one of the party helped too!
