My Dp and I have decided to finally tie the knot and I just wondered if anyone knew what its like as we want to get married at Anfield as we both support Liverpool. Just nervous I think as its a long way from where we actually live and I cant find many reviews of their wedding service so thought I'd ask on the fount of knowledge that is MN

Forgot to ask but:- I have a lot of weight I'd love to lose before wedding and was wondering how long before wedding do people think you need to buy/alter dress (am totally clueless about organising this wedding so need advice as the weight loss has to be taken care of as am very overweight)

It's strange that I've just been looking on the lfc website and noticed they are doing this. I've no idea what it's like but there is lots of great accommodation and things for your guests to do in Liverpool so I would say go for it.

My partners been to the stadium on tours and said that if the service is anything like the way they conduct these(ie friendly helpful etc) then should be great.
I think I just want to know that if all our friends and rels travel so far that they wont be dissapointed as we are all saving for this and for some its going to take some doing and that includes ourselves. We've waited until we could have the wedding we want but its still going to be tight so just want everything to be right.
Are the hotel there reasonable?

There are lots of reasonably priced hotels in the city centre. And yes, the service and friendliness are top notch at Anfield Smile

I live in Liverpool and i am from here.

I have known people to get married there and the venue and service cannot be faulted.

Liverpool isn't expensive, as city centre's go.

No experience of weddings there but we are having a birthday party for one of our DC's at Anfield stadium soon and when we visited to look around the staff were just lovely. There is a restaurant called the boot room (good for MIL jokes!) and no doubt there are function rooms too.

The area around the stadium is a bit run down but there is a viewpoint in a park not far away that overlooks the whole city, (I used to go up there to watch the thunder and lightning on stormy nights when I was a student). Might be ok for some pictures.

I would go and try a few dresses on to get an idea of what suits you but if you are trying to lose weight you need to be very realistic and not go andbuy something that is so small you will make yourself miserable trying to slim into it.

Thanks all.Am actually quite happy if I can slim to a size 20 tops as am seriously overweight for many reasons so not gonna starve myself but gonna exercise my way there so wish me luck I think I'm gonna need it. I do know of the boot room my dp has eaten there and I knew the tours were good but am reassured to here the events people are good to. I think that as I'm going to have to push through my panic attacks(agoraphobic) I needed to be sure
