What do you think of these dresses, for a wedding abroad?

I'm getting married in August, in Cyprus, I've been looking round bridal shops but not really found much a like, they all seem a bit samey and I don't want something strapless, I just don't feel comfortable in that style

It's going to be hot hot hot so I want/need something light - and I came across these dresses on Asos marketplace, only thing is I'd have to order online, although they do accept returns

Anyway - any opininons on these dresses? :)

I really like the first one. The second two would, IMO, be quite hard to wear. Don't like the last one (think it would look very twee and old-fashioned on a 'normal' person rather than a model in a modern sort of pose IYSWIM).

I'm not really keen on any of those. It will be really hot so it's a good opportunity to go for someone really light and floaty. I would probably look in Monsoon, Coast or if you can afford it, the top floor of Selfridges. Not sure what your style is usually, it might be worth giving a bit of personal style info so that people can a look for you. For example, who are your style icons, who do you admire, what kind of look are you going for, will there be a theme? I'll have a quick google to see if I can see anything.

There's some gorgeous quirky styles on this site for ideas. I love the one shoulder, embellished with flowers beautiful.

Sorry now embellished shoulder - that was another one. The one that's quite 40's looking.

bucketbetty yes, light & floaty is what I'm after, I've been to Monsoon, there's a couple in there I quite like, and had a look on Coast's website, thanks I didn't know they did wedding dresses :) Didn't think to look in Selfridges either, I thought they just had a formal bridal section, will investigate

Not sure I have style icons, lol! No theme as such, just relaxed, infomal, I'd like something with a little bit of sparkle/detail but nothing too blingy

The most important thing to think of is what the dress is made of. The chiffon used in the ones you've linked to will just be too sweaty. It will be hot in August (as you're aware) but to then stand (or sit) in chiffon (even for only an hour) is going to be unbearable - believe me, I lived in Cyprus for 4 years.

Have a great day, it'll be wonderful whatever you decide.

I like 1 and 2 but the last thing you want is to be sweating cobs and feeling like cack if you're too hot. Can someone follow you round with fan all day? Grin

Ooooh with heat in mind, perhaps what you need is this?

I really like those dresses on The Cotton Bride.
On Page 3, top row, 4th from the left, Elini, is absolutely perfect for a wedding in Greece!
There are some cute dresses that are shot, that would be cooler, and they are all lovely! Great site emsyj.
