Summer Fair We - what shall we do?!

We're in SW London and out school fair is 11.30-3.30pm tomorrow.

We need to decide this afternoon if we're going to run the full fair on the school field or a scaled down version under gazebos in the playground.

We also have a booking for a huge inflatable which we may be able to cancel or postpone but I simply have no idea what to do.

Can anyone please help?

Ok, looks like heavy showers for your region which you may or may not catch. The thing about showers is their exact location is a bit unpredictable!

So if you were in charge of said Summer Fair what decision would you make, based on what you know?!

Ours was supposed to be tonight and it has been postponed. I think you should postpone yours, nobody likes to go to these things in the rain.

Postponing isn't an option, it's deciding where to site it.

But it depends what kind of rain. If it's short-lived showers, even if they're heavy then it's different to constant rain.

Postponed ours today and it's been warm, cloudy & sunny all day (SE). Grrr! We're also going camping tomorrow so I reckon the weather will defo be bad then! I would pre empt bad weather & scale down.

I think there is more chance of rain in the SE and south than there was yesterday. It does go to show that the met office warning areas can be very misleading. If the rain develops it could be very heavy however you may not get any at all. It's hard to get your head around that there isn't so much of a middle position at the moment.

We went ahead anyway and had about 3-4 really heavy showers during the 3 hours. Happily, we had lots of gazebos and it didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits. In fact the kids seem to like it better in the rain!
