Bit of a thundery breakdown in the nice weather for some.

And the usual lightning websites here and here if anything of a thundery nature does kick off later!

oh it is kicking off... but not in the warning area.

there have been a couple of threads in chat.

first time I looked there was one storm over gloucester, then a row of three gloucester south eastwards, now they are spreading out across the south mids.

Might get another round of storms this afternoon.

Need to emphasis the word might :)
Don't want to be greedy though. It was a jolly good firework show last night.

Last night in North Hampshire was amazing. so much lightening. Almost constant.

I'm mucho Envy ~ there was nothing here in the way of thunderstorms last night but we did have rain.
As much as I'd like my allotment watering, I could do without storms tonight as I've been painting outside this afternoon so I'd like there to be a decent drying time before anything stormy/watery arrives ~ gloss paint takes so long to dry!

Poor you for missing out Gloria. I'd say it was one of the best lightning displays I've seen for several years. Lots of pink lightning, constant at times but not at all scary. (apart from when there was a sudden sharp smell of ozone - and a general rather prickly electrified feeling for a few minutes) I've since read news reports of several fires due to lightning strikes.

Envy

We miss all the exciting weather here - all we got were a few drops of rain yesterday!

Even on Friday it tried to rain for 2 minutes, but never lasted and we still had to go and water the IL's garden (they are on holiday!)

Manky - how funny that you are having to water in your area!

I did have one slight frustration. One of our water butts has developed a slight leak around the tap. I'd got it almost empty and was planning to fix it this weekend. The storm filled it right to the top again. Grrr.

OYBBK ~ it sounds like an excellent storm ~ hope there wasn't too much damage done from the lightning strikes.
Think looking at the weather forecast for the next few days, that water butt will soon be empty again!

It rained on me on my way to work this morning, and stayed dreich for a couple of hours. Not very heavy but persistent. It's dry at the moment but grey

Lucky you OYBBK

We've a yellow weather warning for rain this afternoon/evening for Edinburgh and central and southern Scotland, but even though it's been sunny and warm, I don't think it'll produce a good thunder storm.....
Fingers crossed for a nice storm when I go down to London in a couple of weeks time Grin
