Will we have wall to wall sunshine or will we be digging Easter eggs out of snow drifts?

At the moment GFS goes up to Sat 12th April, so Easter weekend is not quite in the picture. However the first week of many peoples school hols (sat 5th April on) looks like a very typical April set up. Lots of showers, but some sunshine and temps into the low to mid teens.

At the end of that week into the next one (Easter Week) I'm not convinced there will be a sudden warm up -southern Europe doesnt seem very warm for that time of year, but there are some more promising temps building up in Eastern europe.

That is one model, a long way off yet. Thread will be updated.....

No real change to the outlook today, though there are some tantalising glimpses of high pressure in the south.

Tomorrow looks quite wet, esp later on then after that not too bad, dry but cool seems to be on the cards, with the breeze mid week it could feel quite cold so think layers. Hope you have a lovely trip.

Currently shivering in Edinburgh, with the haar not lifting all day. Winter coat and gloves needed. I've heard that it's 20C in London ???? Am down there on Thursday for 2 weeks, should I take my winter coat or will I roast?

This weekend, not too bad on Saturday, some showers though, becoming wet all over on Sunday. Temp low to mid teens but night time temps holding up nicely.

Outlook according to GFS

Cool and unsettled early in the week next week but a high pressure forming in the south of the country bringing more settled and perhaps quite warm temps mid-late next week. Rural temps close to freezing at night though. Hot water bottles needed for camping!

Onto Sat 12th onwards through to the thursday 17th when the model runs out...
Becoming unsettled again through the week but with warm temperatures and strong sunshine at times some hefty (thundery?) showers look set to form.

Sure it will all change next model run Grin

funky at the moment there is potential for it to be pretty nice for most of the week (before it ends in a deluge!) course theres plenty of time for that to change!

Ooh I'll keep a look out and pop up closer to the time. Given that things can change in couple of days I won't pack the sun glasses just yet lol

We are back on the Friday so it can rain from then lol.

If you are in the south make the most of the dry settled weather. Mid next week seems to become unsettled everywhere.

Frost alert early next week for gardeners - even in the south.

Easter Weekend is a tricky one to call still. Looks quite yuk for at least par tof Britain with heavy rain about, but the area affected keeps shifting.

Psychic. At the moment I don't think I can promise that. Keep prodding me (but I'm away for a few days early next week and might not have internet)

So kitten does that mean mid next week in Weymouth is set to get a bit grim or is it looking like that for most of the week?

I am busy making hay while the sun shines. I am prepared for this to end at any moment.

But I will be blaming you OYBBK. Just so you know.... Wink
