More rumblings from Hekla volcano (Iceland)

This might be a 'something or nothing' but the folks here think that it looks rather likely that Hekla will erupt soon ~ in the next 4 weeks is mentioned. (Note their advice "not at any cost get closer to Hekla then 10 km from now on. And then I would stay in the car on the road. If you are closer the chance of you surviving is not good and 5 km the chance of you surviving the initial blast is pretty much nill.")

More info on Hekla is here. There are also webcams here and here for if/when anything happens.

we went to see hekla. she was much more conical thn she is now as she has erupted since. we were told that she goes off every ten years or so, which fits in with her being bout to go again.

when they saay roads, I suspect they mean the tarmaced roads ther thn the aash roads that ran across the ash fields.

thanks for the tip about the volcano programme on channel 5 by the way.

Do you mean this one, Iceberg?

I've seen about half of that Channel 5 programme so far ~ waiting for an odd moment to see the rest!

Best not go on this site then BlackeyedSusan, where they show the earthquakes that occur all over Iceland. (Should add that usually when an eruption starts, there are 100s of earthquakes not just the one that is showing up near Hekla this morning!)
